Tipping Hair/Makeup Artist

What is the customary tipping for hair stylist and make up artist for wedding? Also, they are traveling to our hotel and will be doing a trial two days before the wedding.

You could do 15%-20%, although there are some who argue that independent stylists don't need to be tipped because they own their own businesses and don't rent space at a salon, so they get to keep the entire fee you're paying them.


I felt compelled to tip, but I will say it was awfully hard to get my cosmetologist to accept it!
