Tipping - daily or weekly?

I tipped $5.00 per day for our regular maid, on her 2 days off, I tipped the other maid the same on the first day and 10 on the second, and when we left, I gave an extra 25. We got a clean room and fresh towels in the bathroom daily. No animals, no extras. And that is fine with me, I don't tip for "special treatment". I did not make any special envelopes, I just used regualr ones and wrote Housekeeper on them. Sometimes leaving the bills out is not a good idea, the housekeeper may not know it is for them, and wouldn't want to be accused of stealing.

If you don't want to print out envelopes, just write "For Housekeeping" on a piece of paper and lay the $5 on the paper. I usually leave it out in plain sight on the table.

It's always good to keep your housekeeper happy.....

I tip everyday, on the last day if I have any unopened goodies, such as drink boxes crackers that I don't want to bring back in the suitcase I leave a note saying it is ok for housekeeping to take them, if you don't leave a permission note for housekeeping to take them they can not. It is a rule. This is what HK has told me in the past. So if you leave your unopened goodies behind don't forget the note as well.
