Tipping cab driver

How much or what percent is considered the acceptable or normal amount for tipping a cab driver? As an example, if the fare was $9.50, how much would you give the driver? Thanks.

I usually tip around 20% if there is no luggage involved, so about $2 on that fare seems right to me. I'd probably even the tab to $12.00.

15-20%, so I'd round up to $11 or $12, depending on the driver.

I would give him/ her $11 or $12 with no bags or $14 with bags.

Well, since it seems as if I hardly ever have singles, they would probably make out pretty well and get 15 from me. If I had some singles, as others have said, probably 2 or 3 bucks in a tip.

It depends on how they got me to my location, I have had some drivers who have shown me way to much of Orlando on the way to my destination . I really hate having to give the driver directions but it has happened to me a lot. I have had cab drivers tell me what a scam it is (and they were correct) and they have given me there card so I used them solely during my trip and they were tipped quite well.
