I know it's counter service, but I'm always thrown off because they bring the food to your table.

We ate there Sunday 8/21 after we arrived and our server ended up not doing anything more than introducing herself. Three other people actually brought our food out to us. We did not leave a tip.

We ate lunch there Saturday 8/17 and had a wonderful server named Erich. He brought our food, got drink refills, hunted down my husband's dessert, and even spent time talking to our youngest, checking out his just-purchased Lego stash and just taking time to listen to the kids. We felt he did a great job, went a bit above and beyond what he had to, so we tipped him directly (instead of leaving money on the table) before we left.

But of course, now in hindsight, I wonder if we should have tipped the first time as well. Thoughts?

In my opinion you did the right thing by server #2. I believe when I ate there I did tip because my server did keep checking on me even though it is considered CS. If they had done what you describe your first server doing then no I wouldn't have tipped either.

We always tip even if more than one server takes care of us. I don't know for sure but I feel that if they split the work they probably split the tips.

We were at WDW during the same time as you and also ate twice at WPE. We tipped both times. Like you our first server didn't do much so we left about $2 on the table. On our 2nd visit our server was fantastic and went above and beyond for us. The place was packed and he was very attentive. After ordering and sitting waiting for our food I wanted to add something else and the line was out the door. Our server got what I wanted and came to the table with the receipt and we just gave him the money. Then when DS finished his kids meal, he was still hungry and our server brought him out a plate of pasta, on him!!! We handed him $5 when we were leaving.

I always tip when we eat there, just adjust the amount depending on the service.
