DH's 35th will be the week before we go to Disney. I want to do something special for it, but I haven't got any good ideas. Suggestions please!

One of the backstage tours which takes you into the tunnels under the Magic Kingdom (either Keys to the Kingdom or Backstage Magic).

Seeing the characters backstage is a fun part of these tours as well. For example, you might see Chip and Dale without their character heads.

Or, dinner at the Morocco restaurant so he can see the belly dancers.

Ok well this isn't the most expensive, but it was a lot of fun!

In August we went for my DBF (best friends) birthday. I had been planning it for MONTHS.
I collected tons of mickey heads from home depot, streamers, balloons, banners, made a little goody bag of presents, and her boyfriend brought his presents for her as well.

Well, the morning of her birthday, we made her go get the coffee for everyone. She was so tired and cranky and didn't want to do it, but we forced her to. (I know, were evil!)
While she was gone, we went to work! We hung everything up, there was 4 of us doing it all...and the night before I blew up balloons and left them in my parents room, we had adjoining rooms.
She was SHOCKED when she got back. She was about to walk in the room all mad , but then got so excited when she saw what we had done.
It was so much fun and such a great experience!

If you have the money to you can also order a cake and have it sent to your room along with presents, decorations, etc.

Also make sure when you make your ADR's to tell them you are celebrating. They will give you a pin and a treat and most likely sing. It's fun too cause everyone at the parks will wish you happy birthday

HAPPY PLANNING

For my DH's birthday I had arranged a Grumpy Birthday room make over while doing a surprise morning ride along at the Tom Petty Driving Experience then afterwards we had breakfast at Chef Mickey's and then rented mouseboats to tour the lake. My husband was quite surprised when we came back to the room and there was decorations all set up and even a chocolate Grumpy birthday cake. That evening we had Poly Laua Reservations and he was brought up on stage and given a lei and got to do a little dance with all the other celebration guests.... don't know who had more fun, him or me laughing my bottem off:rotfl:.

Check out the company, Gifts of a Lifetime. I arranged a treasure hunt through MK for our daughter in law and in over 20 vacations at WDW, this was, by far, the single best experience we've ever had there. This company arranges all sorts of surprise/custom experiences and I was able to get exactly what I wanted and it exceeded every expectation I had.

I would like to do the Yacht cruise from the GF. It goes out into bay lake, you get dinner and a butler and you get to watch the fireworks from the Yacht. That would be what I would like and I turned 42 back in January. I would also like to do the Chef's Table at the restaurant at GF.

These would be something that you and your DH could do.

Great ideas! I'm looking into a few of them! (I've updated 2 of our ADRs to reflect his birthday - DH is the type that doesn't like a fuss made about him, so I'm probably not going to tell anymore... the Spirit of Aloha Dinner & our first meal the day we get there should be enough).

:cheer2:

I'd suggest one of the tours if he is interested in one of the topics. Also you may try renting a boat he could cruise around the lagoon or go waterskiing. Especially if you don't normally do water sports.

My DH wants to do the SEGWAY TOUR someday.

Actually, the whole family wants to try it.

All of the deluxe resorts offer massages and couples packages! I think that could be a lot of fun!
