Tip wasn't added?

We went out to eat last night.

I left an $8 tip on the CC receipt last night.

Today the bill showed up on my online CC purchase list and it shows only the food amount.

What do you think happened? Should I call the restaurant?

Has it actually CLEARED on your card or is it still pending? Until it is officially cleared, the tip will not show up. At least that is how my Chase Disney Visa works.

When it is "pending" it is the original amount. Once it is actually closed out in the banking system it will show the tip included.

This happens on my debit card, too. The tip shows up later.

The reason for this is that they run the authorization on your card when you first give it to them, then when they bring it back to you to sign you add the tip. Then at the end of the day they run the "final" numbers, and that will include your tip. The authorization will fall off, and the final numbers will go through.
