I just returned from a trip to San Francisco. I have been using space bags for luggage packing for awhile now and it really paid off on this trip. I use them for space saving and for ease of inspection. On this trip it was pouring rain in our layover city. Apparently the luggage was exposed to the rain for a long time during transfer. The bag was soaked on arrival at the destination. But luckily with the space bags, everything I packed in them was dry. The only things I had to dry was a couple pair of socks that I had in a pocket instead of a plastic bag. I was so glad I had used them on this trip.

I like them too! I picked up a few at Target and then some more at a kitchen outlet store.... about $10 for 3 of the kind you roll to get all the air out.

Just be careful using too many in a large suitcase or you may go overweight ;)

I have 1 I picked up at a garage sale, are they easy to use with vacuums from the hotels?

These are the travel space bags. They do not require a vacuum. You squeeze the air out by hand, or by sitting on them slowly and carefully like I do.

Yesterday our local Shopko store had their monthly senior citizen day; save 15% on all purchases (except for prescriptions, formula, eye visits, diapers, etc). I picked up a few things for our July trip. Among the items I got was 4 boxes of 2 each space bags designed for carry on luggage. I sure wish I would have gotten more because I think they'd suit for checked luggage too. Perfect size for summer things. They'd protect in case of rain as someone else posted, if luggage got stuck outside for any reason.

Oh well, since the first Wednesday of the month is senior citizen day so I'll just get some more next month!
