Tip for those trying to make ADR and not getting times you want

I had a heck of a time this morning, and was upset because even though I got up at 4:00 am my time, I couldn't get a single time I wanted. First I couldn't get the site to work, kept kicking me out. So I switched from Firefox to internet explorer then it worked. A couple weeks ago I couldn't get Internet Explorer to work, so I switched to Firefox and it worked fine! (We just changed our travel dates which is why I was able to try it two weeks ago.) SO, if you're having trouble with the site, try switching browsers.

The main tip though:

DO NOT put in breakfast/lunch/dinner in the time window, put in a specific time!!! I was putting in breakfast and getting times between 8:30 and 9:30 and was upset that I couldn't get a first time slot at 8:00. I switched my search to say 8:00 and grabbed it no problem! Same with Ohana, I couldn't get earlier than 7:00, but I switched and searched for 5:00 pm and got it no problem! It happened with every single one of my reservations! So in case other people don't realize the system works like that and figure it's easier to just put breakfast/lunch or dinner, DON'T!

When did it start giving you an option to specify breakfast, lunch, or dinner? When I've made our online reservations in the past, it only allowed you to choose a time such as 5:00, 5:30, etc. Just want to know what to expect for planning future meal reservations. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm not sure, it was giving me that option 2-3 weeks ago when I initially booked our trip and made the ADR's. This is our first trip to Disney so my first time booking ADRs. At the top of the scroll bar was Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, then below those was all the specific time slots. I always just figured it was easier to just pick Breakfast and thought it would show me all the times available for breakfast. I'm so glad another DISer let me in on that secret though! Otherwise it would've really messed up the timing on our holiday! I'm so happy we get a chance to get character breakfasts before the park opens, seeing the castle with hardly any people around will be magic for the kids!
