Tip for Securing a T Rex Cafe Reservation

Our family has been to WDW many times, and my kids have been asking me if we can go to the T Rex Cafe for several years now but I have never been able to get a reservation. This year when I couldn't even get a lunch time reservation for our August trip through Disney Dining I called the restaurant directly, and I had my pick of times!!

I hope this helps anyone that may have had a hard time finding a reservation.

I had the same problem last year. I tried for several days to get a reservation, even at really odd times and there was never anything available. I ended up calling and got an early dinner reservation. The weird thing was is that when we got to the restaurant it was almost empty!

When I called the restaurant I asked for a lunch time reservation thinking that there would be limited tables if any available, and the host on the telephone gave me a choice of times. I ended up with a prime time 12 noon reservation.

T-Rex is not a Disney restaurant, and its operaters have chosen to release only a small percentage of available tables for booking reservations through Disney.

Anothing thing to remember - if you don't book through Disney, you are not subject to Disney's cancellation policies and you are not out $10 pp if you skip the reservation.

Always call T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe direct. You'll usually get the date/time you want.

Yes, if the restaurant accepts DDP then they accept DDP. It doesn't matter how you book it.

Another thing to note is that T-Rex often takes walk-ups as well. We've walked in to T-Rex three times now with no ADR, and no issues.

Also, you can sign up for Landry's select card (Google it). You pay $25 to sign up, but then get $25 off your first meal, and another $25 off if it's your birthday month. And, you get priority seating. We had an 8:00 res and showed up at 7 and were seated within 10 minutes. And the place was packed.
