DBF and I were in WDW last week, he is a coffee fanatic and I just enjoy good coffee. Our room at POFQ had a 4 cup coffee maker so we brought our own. The do not supply any filters, just those pre-packaged coffee pods so we were out of luck. The coffee served at the hotels and parks (with the exception of some epcot restaurants) is Nescafe and not good if you're used to the strong stuff like Starbucks. So don't forget to check and see if your resort has a coffee maker, what size and bring your own coffee and filters.

Starbucks anyone? Go to Tubbi's 24 hour cafeteria in Dolphin Resort for Starbucks anytime of the day!!

Thanks ToesMom

I love Starbucks. Was just there today with my mother.
Is it more expensive at the dolphin than here in ontario

Good information but unless you're staying at the Dolphin, it doesn't really serve you when you need it the most. For those of us whose blood type is C8 H10 N4 O2 checking in advance on the type of coffee maker is a good idea. But then I'll get less use from my DMVC Mug! Oh, the decisions! Cheap, bad coffee made by someone else or good coffee made by me! :surfweb:

I have posted a thread on this in the past.
I also like my own brew. I use the 4 cup coffee maker in the room, but bring my own coffee and filters. I grind enough coffee for a pot and put it in a ziploc. I make up at least one for each day of my stay. Then I put all of these little ziplocs into a larger ziploc with enough filters. After I have finished with my pot of coffee, I put the used filter and grounds into the ziploc. That way, the housekeeper does not have to clean up after my mess.

I always bring my own coffee. I love to wake up in the morning where ever I am on vacation and have a cup of coffee sitting on the balcony of where ever I am. Great way to start the day.

For us, walking over to Kona's for a cup of their pressed Kona coffee, is way better than brewing, packing and hauling stuff on vacation. Only drink the stuff in the am though. Whats in the room is good enough for us and after morning , its Miller Time. Besides, that what our refillable mugs are for.

what brand of coffee do they provide for the 4-cup coffeemakers at disney?

and if I bring my own, do they take the cone Melitta filters or the flat bottom Mr. coffee type? I can't do Nescafe :crazy2:

What brand of coffee do the hotels provide - not sure exactly, the package just says Gourmet Coffee, it wasn't very good

Style of filters - flat bottom

On the positve note - they do provide you with cute Mickey styrofoam cups. We used our refillable mugs and took the coffee cups home. Because I tipped housekeeping every day, I got more cups each day.

We didn't go to Kona but did have excellent espresso at Alfredos and a really good starbucks quality cup at Ghiradelli.

Since we're talking about coffee....on our trip back in December, we had an early breakfast at Ohana and my DH drank a TON of coffee (not bad) and I ordered cappucino, which was very good, BTW :thumbsup2 . Anyway, when we were leaving to head over to the MK for opening, the CM asked us if we wanted some coffee to go (at no extra charge). She even gave me a LARGE cappucino to go! She mentioned that we might as well take advantage because if we wanted to get coffee and cappucino in the MK, it would be pretty expensive, and we had already paid for this meal (also expensive, but worth it as both myself and one of DDs are HUGE Stitch fans! :stitch: ) DH and I got pretty hyped up on the all the caffeine :hyper: , but it got us through the fun and silliness of the Family Magic Tour, which we went to next! I don't know if they usually offer coffee to go, or we just had a nice CM who thought we looked like we needed a ton of caffeine! :coffee:
