What is the normal tip that we should give when we eat at Palos for champagne brunch as well as dinner? Thanks.

When we were at Palo's for dinner on our last cruise, we left our waiter $20 per couple. There were three couples in our party. his service was exceptional.

You'll see varying answers here but dh and I usually think about what a comparable meal at a nice restaurant would be price-wise and tip according to that.

Our first year we had a bottle of wine + the $10 chare (2 at $5 each) and our total bill was about $84 I think.

2nd year we dined with friends and drank another bottle of wine and I can't honestly remember what we tipped but it was probably a minimum of $20 per couple.

We figured the meal to be valued at $150-$200 for dinner, and tipped the 20 plus percent accordingly for the outstanding service we had on the magic for dinner.

For brunch..we gave him $50..again, outstanding service on the magic.

On the wonder...ok service...did standard 20% nothing extra.

Does the $10 surcharge go to the server? Do you figure that in to the tip amount? For example, if you felt your meal was worth about $100 and you wanted to tip 25% would you just leave $15 so with the surcharge you would be paying $25?

The $10 is split amongst the staff and manager

We also figure 20% of a land meal. With two of us, we figure $100 for the meal so $20 for the tip. That is in addition to any auto-gratuity for beverages, and sometimes we add a phone card.
