Just wondering how much we should tip each day for the room. There will be two of us at POFQ. Thanks.

I've read other responses where people average $1-$2 per person per day. Hope this helps!

We usually do $3.00-$5.00 per room per day I think. We always have 2-4 rooms and we are very neat, so it is only towels and garbage changes that we need. We even make our own beds. On our last day we leave extra. It is important to do daily tip envelopes as sometimes you may have a different person cleaning the room, so leaving an envelope once a week with tips for the whole week as some people do will leave one person with tons of extra, and someone may get missed as it isn't always the same person. Per Disney's own rules for mousekeepers, they aren't technically supposed to take the tip money. I have seen the site where it posts what they make an hour, and they are paid pretty well, and it says that they aren't supposed to be tipped. That being said, I believe in tipping, so I do leave a tip. It may not be huge, but it is a nice little bonus for them. Some mousekeepers take it, others don't.

FYI - last time I checked mousekeeping was not part of WDW's offical "tipped positoins." So you are not required/expected to tip anything. If you want...the rule of thumb (here on the DIS) seems to be $1/person/day tipped each day, not one lump at the end of your stay.

My biggest issue with tipping for maid service is that you are tipping for a service you haven't gotten yet. You are tipping before they clean your room. So you are not really tipping for the service you got but the service you hope to get. You may get crummy service or awesome service you just don't know.

I tip a dollar per person per day. I take my tip envelopes already filled before I leave home. I too keep my room picked up, I don't make the beds, but, I do keep stuff off the beds and off the bathroom counter..
