Okay, weird story.
My mom was outside in the back yard picking up dog poo, and she noticed a big fluffy pile of fur. When we went to see what it was, we noticed that it was MOVING! Then we noticed TINY BABY BUNNIES!! WHAT?
Some stupid rabbit mom made her nest of bunnies in the middle of my back yard, right in the sun!
I mean, we have a dog! I don't know what to do. I think we might be calling animal control. This is so bizarre. They're tres cute, tho! They're brown and black and spotty.
But seriously. So weird.

Does anyone have any ideas? I don't think any of the people my mom is calling know what to do either. They don't sound very helpful.. :confused3

I would suggest moving them out of the sun first. But touching them could be hurtful to them if they are newborns. Don't let your dog get to them. Calling animal control could be a good idea but they probably won't do much either

I don't think they're newborns because they have a bit of fur, but they're def very young.
Basically the people we called said to leave them. I'm hoping the mommy bunny moves them to a safer place tonight, because we have a lot of out door cats in the neighborhood who wander through our backyard sometime. I'm worried that they're going to get eaten. ):

I would suggest taking pictures so we can see them! ^_^

haha.
I mean, I could take a pic of the nest? We covered them back up a bit to keep them out of the sun, and I don't want to mess with them too much. :|

le nest.
I know its not a pic of cute baby bunnies, but its the best I can do, haha.

no yeah, leave them outta the sun. :p I wanna see the lil' fluffs XD And their nest :D

We had baby rabbits, and you aren't supposed to touch them until a certain time. Because it is something to do with the scent, if your scent gets on them, the mum will get all annoyed and think they aren't hers and potentially eat them.

Sounds bizarre, but thats what our vet said lol.

instead of moving them because if another human touches them then the mommy could just not like their scent and leave them just try and make a little shelter that could help with the sun. And don't let your dog get them.

ew, lol.
Well, we haven't touched the bunnies, so I think we should be good.
We did touch the nest tho, because at first we thought it was something our dog had killed.:scared: I hope thats okay..

And Em, my mom asked about that, and the people at animal advocates said that a shelter might frighten off the mom. D:

That's so cute!
Tiny bunnies in your back garden!

I haven't got a clue as to what you could do, but don't let animal control kill them! I just like to state the obvious! ;)

Of course not!!
We just kind of wanted them to like.. move them, idk. haha. But its kind of irrelevant know because they're not coming. :p

But it is super cute. I hope they survive so we can have cute little bunnies living in our backyard.
I just wish the mom could have had them in a bush or something. :\

I wouldn't touch them. Let them stay out there, maybe momma will move em.

BTW, I didn't read your whole post, just saw the picture and was about to say "Paula, you ding ding, those a dust bunnies, not real bunnies!". Then I saw that it was their nest.
I'm so stupid. LOL

There's really nothing you can do, because it you touch them the mother will abandon them.
I would just keep your dog away from them. If your dog has to go out, put it on a leash or something so you can watch where he/she is going.
That's so cute! We always get baby bunnies in our yard. They like to make nests up against our pool. lol
