We are travelling down to visit the Magic in November. I am hoping to catch Wishes from inside the park this time rather than just from our room. The main reason is that I would love to see Tinkerbelle's flight. My DS is a huge fan! I had heard that she hadn't been flying lately. Does anyone know if she has continued her flight? I would hate to tell him we would see her and then she not be there.

They had taken the cable down that she flies on for the hurricanes. Hopefully once the danger of hurricanes is over the cable will be up and she will be flying.

The cable was back up and Tinkerbell flew last week when I went to Wishes. That being said, I wouldn't tell your son that she's GOING to fly, or even that you might see her. Instead, I would wait until you're there, and see if she actually flies. Obviously, pretty much any inclement weather will cancel the flight, and FL weather is pretty unpredictible.

We're leaving a week from today (yippee!! :Pinkbounc ) and my dd adores Tink....

where and when should I be to see her?

Thanks!

She flys right before the fireworks show. The cable goes from the castle to the roof of one of the bldgs in tomorrowland so stand in the middle of the bridge and she will fly right over you. It is a wonderful thing to see...

If you stand in the rose garden to the right of the castle she will go right over you!..............P

Actually, if the fireworks show is Wishes, she flies a couple of minutes into it. She used to fly before the first firework shot off in Fantasy in the Sky, but in Wishes it's a couple of minutes into it. She flies from the top of the right side of the castle down over Tomorrow Land. :)

We were there on Sunday 9/12 and Tink didn't fly, but when we were there on Wed 9/15 she did - Not sure if it was the threat of Ivan that kept her from flying on 9/12.:confused3 My kids and DH still talk about how great that was!

She flew on Tuesday the 21st, but not on Wednesday the 22nd. I wonder if she only flys on busy nights when Spectro is showing during the off season. The cable was up the whole week.

We took the Keys to the Kingdom tour a couple of weeks ago, and they explained that she may not fly based upon wind conditions. I don't think it has anything to do with the crowd levels. She flew on September 15, which was a day with very low crowds. If the weather permits it, she apparently will fly every time during Wishes.

Looks like it must be based on the weather. We were there on 9/13 and she didn't fly. I was so bummed. We had a great spot right in front of the castle and I had a bad feeling when we got there and I didn't see the cable.

crazy enough, I didn't even think of the weather being a factor??!! We were there just a few days after frances came through so I can understand why she didn't fly. I thought maybe they weren't doing it at all anymore.

Hopefully, we can see her next year!

The weather makes sense whether she flys or not, but the weather on Wednesday was beautiful and she did not fly.

We were there Thursday, Sept. 2nd, two days before Frances came through. Tink flew that night and it was awesome.

She is all lit up now. When we saw her in 2001 she wasn't. We had to strain to see her. This time, you couldn't miss her. It was really neat.

No Spectro that night. And the park had pretty low crowds except for the fireworks.

Word of warning to those of you with children who still "believe": When DD6 was 5, we made sure we were at the bridge to Tomorrowland, because she had never seen Tink fly. You see the "cable" very well from there, and DD cried the rest of the night because seeing that cable destroyed her belief that Tink was real!

Maybe someone can give another location where Tink can be seen but the cable is not so obvious.

Judy

When I was there this summer, I was amazed at how Tink is now lighted! It was so beautiful!

JNorris -

During the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, it was explained that the cable was not actually a cable. Instead, Peter Pan had drawn a line in the sky to help Tink with the path of her flight. I don't know if it's too late to provide the "real" explanation to your DD, but you may want to give it a try.
