We aren't doing Tinkerbell gifts exactly. The kids will know the stuff is from us. We doing them more like clues to what will be in store for them that day. Also incentives to wake up early-lol.

My 5 year old girlie girl was easy, but struggling with the 12 yo boy.

So far I have:
Yeti solar bobbler from Five Below -AK Expedition Everest
Japanese lady Lego mini fig (disassembled) for Epcot World Showcase
Mickey jelly bellies for MK
Yoda head squishball for HS

Need something related to:
MK (2 more days)
DisneyQuest (or Once Upon a Toy or T-Rex)
Epcot Future World
Art of Animation Resort

Also, any other little present ideas for him would be great as I have a ton of stuff for my daughter but can't give it all to her unless I find more stuff for my son. Trying to not do any more candy items and make it be stuff that wouldn't go in trash can after vacation. A tall order I know.

Or even places I might look besides Target dollar spot, Five Below, and the dollar store for ideas.

A little more expensive that what you have listed, but my 11 year old LOVES the Kingdom Keepers book series. You can get them in paper back at Barnes and Noble, etc. We get him a new one to read on every trip. They take place in the Disney parks, so it's lots of fun.

Other stuff he likes that might work: Disney comic books, Disney character pens or pencils, Disney keychain for his backpack.

Great ideas! I think he's read all the Kingdom Keepers, but doesn't own any. I read them, too, and I bet it would be fun to reread them while AT Disney! Or maybe a new one will come out. Will see what I find for the other stuff, too. Thanks for the suggestion :-)

My nephew liked glow sticks - esp the sword or wizard type wand
Art of animation - how about a "learn to draw xx character book?" I know they have Mickey and Stitch on amazon.
Pennies to press for any park esp world showcase
weird but my nephews fav gift was skateboard/soccer socks we bought him from the surf shop at DTD - that was a home run!
A few separate small dollar Disney gift cards to spend on "whatever" each day instead of a larger dollar value?
the hidden mickey book or app and or the Disney trivia book or app both are really great for waiting in lines and for shows - also head bands game/app was a big hit.

Wow, GREAT ideas!!!! I'm going to have to file these away for our next trip for my now 13&10 YOs. Hobby Libby had the learn to draw books--I snagged DS a villain one and DD Tangled. That's a super idea for AoA! Maybe one of those card holder things for MK if he plays SOMK? Or a break-your-own geode for mine train?? My DD loves those. Where did you find the Yoda head squushy ball? My kids both love SW and our next trip will prob be for SWW again.

the first kingdom keepers series has been finished, there were 7 books:Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark
Kingdom Keepers II: Disney at Dawn
Kingdom Keepers III: Disney in Shadow
Kingdom Keepers IV: Power Play
Kingdom Keepers V: Shell Game
Kingdom Keepers VI: Dark Passage
Kingdom Keepers VII: The Insider
all very good though keep in mind the last two book takes place mainly on the disney cruise and transitions to disneyland

if y'all have finished all the series and enjoyed them take heart because the author has agreed to a second series not too much info other than a second series has been confirmed and will more than likely feature new characters

Obviously you know your own son, but...are you sure? I'm the oldest of 5, and I always recognized that the other kids might get things that I wouldn't. That my wants might be different. When I was 15 and my second brother was 2, my wants were different (and much more expensive) than his.

My son is 10 and apart from Lego wouldn't appreciate those things in any way other than being polite about it. He would prefer to be a part of creating those days. Or he would rather just have the money so he could buy arcade time or something like that. (and thank goodness because the energy it would take me to come up with a plan like yours would make me nap for a month! just not that creative LOL, and I've included DS in planning since he was 4 so there's an expectation there)

Yes! Great additional suggestions!

To the above poster, you know, you're right. It wouldn't have to be a bunch of "happy-crappy" (as an old co-worker of mine used to say). I could add money to the arcade card which I know he would love. Or take him out for a late night with one of us.

I'm also the oldest of five, but felt like much of my life was (and still is) in service to the younger kids in the family. Lots of sacrifices (no friends over b/c babies were sleeping, while all other kids had tons of parties...walk 3 miles to work b/c we don't have time to take you, while younger kids were given cars...etc...you know the whole "poor me" routine). Husband also an oldest child with similar feelings. B/c of this we're hyper-aware of what it can feel like and probably go a little overboard in wanting to make sure things are even. But when it comes down to it, he will have a whole extra trip to DisneyWorld under his belt, so that should make it plenty even :-)

And he will definitely help with planning. He loves the anticipation almost as much as I do. But he loves a surprise and asks me to surprise him constantly. Which I do in little ways. But it's Hard to balance the two. We are going to plan our park days out together, he just won't know every single detail (like restaurants or that we are doing DisneyQuest). And I want it to be a surprise each day which park we will be doing.

That way he will have the fun of anticipating certain rides and attractions as well as the surprise of exactly which if those he will be doing on a given day.
