Is anyone else worried about long lines to pick up Get Travel Tickets for the Tinker Bell half?

I read about very long lines at the Disneyland half marathon expo, and I am worried that picking up our park tickets will take a lot of time.

I know I can get them shipped, but it is $22/ticket to do that. For my family of 5, ouch!

Is it worth the expense to have them in my hands ahead of time without worrying about lines?

I am only running the half, so I arrive midday on Saturday. I know I have to go to the expo anyway to pick up my race packet, but I figured my kids could be in the park with my husband while I am spending time in line.

Is anyone else having them shipped?
Is the ticket pick up area near the race packet area?

Any info would be appreciated! :thumbsup2

You will not have a problem picking up tickets on Sat. The lines that you have read were when the expo first opened. The reason for the line was they had DDD which the 5K and inaugural 10K was on the same day and to add you have all the people who were running the DL Half. So it was more people than anyone could have expected. Also, everyone wanted to get the merchandise from the Expo.

I went to the Expo for DL Half on Saturday at noon and no one was in line. The only problem I has was finding where the packet pickup was and getting around the expo. I did not know the packet pickup was in the garage while the expo was in the convention hall.

I was more upset because it seemed chaotic and I did not know where to go. But once I got headed in the right direction at the hotel, it was maybe 20 minutes to get my bib and another 5 to get my tickets from Get travel.

I would estimate that it may take you up to 60 minutes to get from the park gates, through packet pickup, and back to the park gates. The longest time will be the walk between the park and the hotel.

Personally, I would not waste my money to get the tickets early. But, if your park time is important for your family, than maybe you should.

Ditto on that. Arriving on Sat, you won't have any problems. Bib pick-up and park tix pick-up are down in the parking garage under the expo hall. And there isn't an order to anything, so you can pick up your tix before you get your bib. You can walk down to the entrance of the parks if you want to go through the main gates and Main Street, but the monorail stop is in DTD next to the Rain Forest Cafe. That would be faster and it drops you off right in Tomorrowland, if you're doing DL and not DCA. The security lines are shorter and it'll save your feet a bit for Sun. :goodvibes

it is only one $22 charge -- not per ticket. (I got my family tickets through Get Travel for the DL half, tickets arrived about 10 days before.....but still had to pick up packet on Friday for Saturday/Sun events, and yes, it was a madhouse and horrible at packet pickup. Hopefully, Disney learned what NOT to do again).

I spoke with get travel today and they said by the looks of what people have booked, looks like a large portion of people will be picking up on Thursday. He said they are not expecting the crazy lines on Friday like last year.... Here's hoping!
