Tinkerbell flight question

my oh so observant 5yo said "Why's there a cable attached to Tinkerbell??" and my quick thinking hubby responded "That's so the wind doesn't blow her away". Oy.

PLUS we got 'why does she have light bulbs on her?" I answered that they added the lights to her outfit so that we could see her but then it made her too heavy to fly so to be safe, they attached her to a wire - they bought it hook, line and sinker!;)

Haha!! That is way too cute! Way to think fast on your feet!:thumbsup2 TinkandAriel tell your hubby nice job as well.

Does this still happen? Thanks Kathy

Very cool, loved the youtube video. We were just there visiting in Decemeber and missed this new addition to the fireworks show. We got stuck over by the Haunted Mansion after Fantasmic. It will be a must see on our list next trip out to California. Maybe in July if we are lucky.

You can even see her flight from the balcony of a tower room at the CR. :)

I am such a sap, I always cry when I see Tinkerbell and watch the fireworks! But I love it! :goodvibes

how hard would it be to adopt that system for tink at WDW? I know MK does not have a matterhorn for her to jump(fly) out of. Maybe 2 folding(retractable) towers, one on each side behind the castle.

Last time I was there, Tink "her" bell was really Tink "he" bell. Clear as day and very obvious if you aware of it. She does fly fast so I could not easily get it on video.

We always thought Tink was a doll until 2 years ago when we decided to stand near the walkway to Tomorrowland, we were so excited when we realised it was a real person.

I have heard about this, but ?, where is the best place to stand to see her, and at what time?

I enjoyed that video! I hope to one day be able to take my family out to California to see the 'Origional" I worry though because so many people say that if you've been to Disney world, that DisneyLand is a dissapointment. I'd still love tocompare the two!!

The other night we all stood right by the wire just past that restaurant going towards Tomorrowland. We saw her up close and it was so awesome. We yelled out "hello Tink" and she blew a kiss at us. We were actually close enough to see that. I hope with all my heart my pictures come out!!

Well, true Disneyland could be a disappointment if you're expecting to see four spacious theme parks surrounded by all that open space. Unlike WDW, Disneyland is located right in the middle of Anaheim and is surrounded by hotels and other businesses not Disney-owned. So, there are some things that it can't do since it has to comply with local regulations.
I, myself, went to WDW first before I set foot on Disneyland. But what space the original park lacks it makes up for attractions (it has more than MK). And believe me, if you're a big fan of anything Disney, there's something different about "Walt's Park." As most of you know, Walt personally supervised everything they put in DL when it was being built (and he's got an apartment in the park!). So many of us APers here feel a special bond to Walt. If you ask DL APers what's the last thing they do before exiting the park, many will respond that they look at Walt's apartment and say "thank you."
And I'm not saying the other parks are not special in their own ways. Every single park was built and designed with Walt's legacy in mind. So, I think even if you've been to WDW, or any other Disney park for that matter, there will still be something special about Disneyland, especially if you know it was the one that strated it all...
Anyway, here's a link to an article comparing DL and WDW:http://www.allearsnet.com/dlr/tp/dl/dlmk.htm

Finally got to DL twice last summer and I thought it was great. I'd love to go back. There are some really fantastic attractions at DL that we don't have at WDW. And some of the same attractions are so much better at DL, like PoTC.

I really do hope to be able to compare the two parks myself one day. I am a lover of the whole WDW experience, but can't imagine myself being dissapointed in anything that Walt did himself.
