Hi everyone!

Join me on this long six and a half month trip report of sorts!

My name is Nicole, I'm 25 and am a college student. My major is Travel and Tourism. I'd like to become a Disney travel agent of course!

I thought long and hard about doing the Disney College Program. (for those who don't know what it is- WDW College Program) I had been wanting to do the CP for a while but had debated about it over and over again, I didn't want to leave my family and my DBF. I then decided I wasn't getting any younger and needed to do this now!

In October, a representative from the program was at my school and it was then that I decided to apply for the CP. I went to the presentation on November 7th (my birthday, what better way to spend a birthday!) I then waited 3 long weeks for my letter.

It finally came! I had been accepted!!!!!!!!! I was a merchandise cast member!!!

I leave tomorrow bright and early to start my grand adventure!

What will the future hold? Where will I work? Will I get along with my roommates?

Please take a seat and join me on my wild ride!

Hey, Tink
Looking forward tp hearing about your time as a CM. You should e-mail Pete. He has a special board for CM's. Good way to maybe meet other's right away.

That's what I got when I did my CP. I was a little disappointed at first. I was already so over the retail thing and where do they put me? It worked out well though. I felt like I really got to talk to people and engage them in conversation, giving them my tips and listen to them talk about the things they've done. My friends that were in attractions didn't really get to spend time with people. Just quick moments here and there. In a shop you can take the time to spend with guests.

Hope you get somewhere good! My area was fantastic - the regular CMs were so good to all of us CPs. Well, most of us. They get frustrated by the constant turnover of college students, especially when they're the students that just wanted to go play away from home for half the year and didn't take it seriously. Go in and just jump into the job with both feet and you'll quickly earn the respect of the regular CMs and they'll be there to help you out and watch over you.

Another college program trip report, woo hoo! :thumbsup2 I'm definitely on board, I love reading about others' experiences since I plan to hopefully do it after I graduate! :goodvibes

Looking forward to hearing about your adventure. Do you know what your location is yet? I think I would want to work in one of the resort shops. I have a friend who has worked at GF for a few years in merch. He always has good stories to tell.

Oh I've never read a College Program report before. This could be interesting. :thumbsup2 Thinking of retiring and working at Disney, this might be an eye opener. :sail:
I hope you'll let us know where you will be working. I'm going in April and would love to drop by and shop and talk. :goodvibes

I'll be reading daily Nicole, I'm so glad you started this!! Can't wait to see you in a few days. Hope you have a great (and safe) drive to Orlando!
