Tink strategy:

I am not sure but I think the wait time only goes to 90 minutes and they tell you as you enter its 3 hours or so.. that is what happen to us... the sign said 90 min but the wait time was little over 2 hours.. the lady said 3 hours..

so you can't go by the sign at all..:confused3

My friend just came back and she has a 6 year old daughter. She said everytime she went by the line it was over 2 hours. So she had a plan B. She took a bag of glittery dust (bought at the craft store) and while her daughter was sleeping she made a trail of dust that led from her bed to the balcony and left the balcony sliding door cracked. When her daughter woke up she told her tinkerbell must've visited her during the night because tinkerbell had really wanted to meet her. She said her daughter was ELATED the rest of the trip and never said anything about going back to wait in line because she said "other boys and girls didn't get a special visit from tinkerbell". I thought this was a cute idea. Although who knows how she cleaned up the glitter/dust! :)

OK, We are not a family accustomed to waiting in lines & we have a 20 month old in addition to our 2 bigger girls.

We will be going the weekend of Thanksgiving ?

Wow! that sounds like you might have a rough road ahead of you.
:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

This sounds just like when the debuts the princess meet and greet and the waits were 90 minutes. This is something that will die down with time. I'm sure later in the evening, the lines are shorter and during the parade/fireworks shouldn't be bad either. We've always avoided rope drop because people are rude and we don't want that start to our day. We take our time and get there 45 minutes to an hour after opening so we can have a relaxing start.

With that being said...there may NOT be an ideal time to go because this is new and everyone will want to go.

I guess it boils down to how bad to you want to see the Fairies.

I'm worried about that wait, too. Am wondering how it will be in the evening? We arrive on the 12th, and will spend every night in the MK - but our day planned for rope drop isn't till the 16th - can't wait that long to see Tink!

If MK closes at 8, would there be a certain time they'd stop people from getting in line to see Tink?
Really not sure how I'll be able to handle my autistic son waiting in line, or how the people in line near us will be able to handle him throwing himself around. But my dd is nutso for Tink and this is a MUST for her.

Also.. will Toontown be opened with Tink there during MVMCP??

If your DS cannot wait in line due to his autism you might want to check into the GAC. There is information on the disabilities board. It is to help everyone in your party enjoy the WDW experience.
HTH! :goodvibes

This is kind of off topic but I looked at the pictures for the fairy area on www.allearsnet.com. So cute!! I don't know if it's 2-3 hours cute but it's almost tempting if I catch it during a shorter line wait.

I wish they'd put tink into one of the character meals. I'd love a picture of her with DD but waiting that long for one is a little too hard core for me.

OK, after reading everything written about this that I can find, here is my plan. Tell me what you think.

We are going to try on Tuesday after Thanksgiving which is listed as a low-moderate day at MK. We're going to get to the Tomorrowland (the path behind Space Mt.) rope drop by 9:30 a.m. We're going to leave the baby & strollers with dh so we can move without a big stroller. He'll meet up with us after the mayhem & just meet us in the line. I know this is in general frowned upon but from reading the reports strollers in this mad dash are death traps so I thought him being 5 minutes behind us would be OK. By plan, not to line jump (& it won't take up extra time behind us as we'll all get our photos taken together.) We're going to have a backpack with bottled water, our Nintendo DS's, cards, snacks, and video/regular camera. We'll plan on being in line until 11:15 or longer.

What do you think? Does this sound like we might get to see Tink without injury? And without waiting a full 2-3 hours?

Here's hoping! I've got matching Tinkerbell t-shirts for all the girls and I've got crowns & glitter for the big girl's hair.

Do I have my bases covered?

You guys are scaring me to death!

I did it on Tuesday, Oct. 28th, and honestly, be scared! As cute as it was, it was definitely the worst part of the trip. If it hadn't been for extenuating circumstances (ugh don't even ask) I wouldn't have even been in that line. And as far as adults who push around little kids to get to a meet and greet, it's pretty disgusting.

I wish they'd put tink into one of the character meals. I'd love a picture of her with DD but waiting that long for one is a little too hard core for me.

I've always felt a Peter Pan meal would be good. Pirates to appeal to boys, fairies for the girls. Peter Pan has a lot of different things to appeal to just about any kid (or adult!). Tink, Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook, and Smee could be out and about. Disney, are you listening???

I'm sorry, I just realized how cranky that last post came out. I had a GREAT trip, but I don't know how you'll avoid that kind of wait. I was there at the rope at rope drop and still ended up waiting two hours b/c I refuse to push people and run. Try during the afternoon parade maybe? I really would resign yourself to waiting 90 mins or so, and then if it's less you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Tink was by far the BEST character meet and greet I've experienced though. She was perfect!

I'm fairly certain I won't even tell my DD about this meet opportunity. No chance we're waiting 3 hours for this. Doubt I'd even wait an hour. Maybe that would be my max (1 hour)? I don't know. But I know 2 or 3 hours are out of the question. Maybe next year??

Well hopefully as a solo traveller I can get in and out as quick as possible.

My DD wants to meet the fairies so badly. I figure the day we can go (it's a Saturday unfortunately) we'll have to do it after lunch.

We've got an 11:30am CP lunch and with the Fairie line being so long, I'm thinking we won't make it if we try to see them at rope drop.

I'm thinking after lunch we'll check the line and if she wants to wait for 2 hours or so, we'll give it a try. If she doesn't we can check back during the afternoon parade.

I'm also planning on bringing her Nintendo DS and a book for me with us that day into the park which I don't normally do. That way we'll have something to do while we wait.

I hope the plan works for us!

we saw Tink on Fri and it was 1 hour 45 minutes start to finish. we got in line at 10:25 ( after we went through and saw the princesses because there was no line...) It was cute and my dd loved it but it really wasnt worth wasting almost 2 hours of park time for it.. The only reason why we did it was because hubby needed to go pick up my car and return the rental( we lost the transfer case on the way down) so he took the baby and my dd and I waited in line....

I love tink and I really want to do the meet n' greet, but there is just no way we are waiting 2 hours! We will definitely try to do rope drop from Tomorrowland or try it late at night before the park closes.

I have a 5 year old niece that is a Tink addict, I showed her the pics from allears and she flipped out, she said "You have got to take me to that!"

We are going in Jan (she has no idea) and hopefull the crowds are low. MK day is a Thurs and an EMH morning day so we hope to get there very early, do lots of stuff and head to TT around 9:45am. Get in line and get to see Tink and her friends.

My DD's 7,5 & 2 along with my wife went on October 28th. We ended up in line for almost 3 hrs. If you are planning on going anytime soon I would recommend that you come in from Tomorrowland as those persons ended up first in line. I think the CM's try to contol the crowd a little better from the entrance to Toon Town and that automatically puts you behind. If you don't make it in line quickly I would leave and try back later. The morning is too valuable time to be waiting as long as we did.

We also ended up doing something I don't usually like to do, but I let my wife take the girls out for a bathroom break (and ride Goofy's Barnstormer) just so they could break up the wait.

The other problem we ran into and something that can be a factor at rope drop is that Tink was late arriving at Pixie Hollow. Over half an hour late. One CM made mention of this at rope drop but when we got to the tent the CM's there said that she was not late. Well we talked with the first family to go though that day and they verified that is was after 10:30 before they got to go back.

My girls loved it, but I was on my last nerve.:crazy2: I was just thankful that we had arrived at MK rope drop and had already ridden a number of rides before we got to Toon Town.
