Tink Got Me My Very Own Sharpies!- A Surprise Bday TR (3/8 Final Thoughts)

Oh no! How horrible about your lens! It can be replaced of course but I would have also been in tears!

I joined the ranks of cool camera people in October but I don't know how to use it really. I Just put it on auto and click! It works for me! I also only have one lens but I will remember it is a 2 person operation to change them out when I get a new one some day!

Yes...def a 2 person job! Much safer that way! How is the camera working out so far? Don't you love it?!?!

so sorry about your lens
you didn't get trip insurance did you maybe they would cover it?

We didn't have trip insurance. *Luckily* this particular lens only costs about $100 so it wouldn't even be worth it to file a claim on my homeowners policy. It was just sadly a $100 lesson! :headache:

Oh dear, your poor lens!

Absolutely love your daughter's purple halloween dress. Sitting here totally wishing my DD would still wear stuff like that. They grow up so fast. Too fast really. But I best stop before I make myself cry.

Ya, I'm sure that I don't have have too much time until it's not "cool"

Thanks for sharing that link. I LOVE that family. They seem like so much fun.

Love the DHS update. Sorry about the lens, but glad it was your lens, not the rented one.

We had a dog with a chewing problem. I think he was a little messed up in the head, so take this for what it's worth. Bitter Apple was like GRAVY for him. He searched out places that we used it and chewed them even more! Then we tried Tabasco- that was just spicy gravy. We just had to ride it out and replace the damaged stuff when it was over. Hope Bailey isn't like that!!!

Youuuuuuuuu whoooooooo!

SOOOORRRRYYYY I'm a horrible TR writer this time around! I really need to get on it. Sadly, I get a lot of my TR segments written at work :ssst: but I've had no downtime at all. It's been completely nuts. I've been working late almost every night. Plus the puppy is like having a toddler in the house again. You can't stop watching him for a second or something is going to be eaten!

Well I had to suck it up and stop the crying. We were in Disney for cryin' out loud (not pun intended) ;) :rotfl2:

So off to the Backlot Tour we went. This ride was closed on my last trip and we didn't have the time to do it on the trip before that so it's been awhile since we've been on it.

I have to say...I'm not as thrilled with the new storyline. I guess the old one was stale but I liked it.

Aisling couldn't remember this one so it was hard to convince her that we were standing in line for an actual ride. She was not thrilled with us until we went around the corner...

Once we got to this scene though...her attitude changed. She was quite thrilled to find out that Randy and I were actually IN this part before. 6 year olds find their parents getting soaked HILARIOUS! She was mad we couldn't leave her to do it again :rolleyes1

Aisling was thrilled to see the "REAL" Hannah Montana movie chicken coop

After the tour, Aisling needed to get out some energy so we headed to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground. She was running around so fast that I didn't get any pics. While we were there...my phone rang! A certain cheerful face was about to brighten my day!!!!

Omgosh... my heart stopped beating when you said that you dropped the lens. I would have cried too. I'm so sorry.... But I'm glad you didn't let it ruin the rest of your trip...

Well...you took one for the team after the near disaster! I've only been to HS once and I didn't do the backlot tour...I would do it just to see the sewing room!!!! Looks like a great day and I love Aisling's dress!!

I have to confess that it stayed on my mind for the rest of the trip since i missed so many pics without that specific lens! But I tried :)

Oh you have to...the sewing room is actually 3 times the size of that pic!

I forget that before we headed over to Honey I Shrunk the Kids, we went to see Mike and Sully! Sorry about that!

So last I left you before Mike and Sully so rudely interupted us, I was hanging out in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area waiting for a certain little brunette to come cheer up my day!

I met Cindee and her family during the February DISmeet and absolutely fell in love with her daughter "M". I was thrilled that they were going to come over and hang out with us for Aisling's birthday trip. They were originally going to just come with us to MK for Aisling actual bday but were able to sneak away on DHS day too!!!! Aisling and M hadn't met yet and I was dying to introduce them. They immediately bonded over their AG dolls and were fast friends- running off to play and abandon us grownups to chat!

Soon, the playground was getting a bit toasty so we decided to go have a seat at the Catering Co. and chat. The girls had their own table to discuss important girly things and trade pins

(I should mention that M has a gorgeous face that I realize I've grotesquely hidden with a white dot...it is for privacy reasons. Luckily, I smartly took a lot of shots from the back of them!)

We chatted for ages since the girls were playing so well! We eventually decided to head off to ABC Commissary for lunch

The ladies led the charge!

After lunch, the ladies figured that it was high time for a ride so it was back to TSM we went!!! The girls arranged to ride together, mommies together, and daddies together! I wish we had been across from the girls but I suppose a picture of daddies is just as fun!

After we got off the ride, the dancing light was out! Cindee had told me about it but I hadn't caught it yet! We watched him perform a variety of dance stylings! It's very cute if you can catch him.

Next Stop....Animation Building!!!

Oh, the dancing light is awesome! I hope I get to see it.

I love that Aisling was able to have fun with another little girl. That picture of them from behind is so cute.

So glad you were able to catch the dancing light! We were lucky enough to see it a few times when we were back in that area.

Love the pic of the girls walking. :cutie:

Thank you! I was thrilled to have "M" there too. In fact, I wish I could take her home with us! She kept Aisling so entertained!! Randy and I are getting pretty boring in our old age!!! M is a couple of years older than Ash and is SUPER well-mannered so she was definitely a good influence. Plus given that they live in Orlando- she is a Disney expert in her own right! But more on that coming up!

Thank you!

The light was so cute! This was the most laid back DHS day we had ever done. And I have to say that I really enjoyed being able to step back and enjoy things like this that we don't typically do!

Isn't it so fun?! :goodvibes

It is! Randy and I have been a ton of times but now that Aisling has been several times and is old enough to remember time to time, she's not upset if we don't see every show or ride every thing. We basically "hung out" at DHS with a few character meets and spins on TSM thrown in there. It was so relaxing for a Disney Day! ;)
