Timing / Transportation Question

Looking at going to AMC at Disney Springs for Force Awakens on 12/22. We really want to do the Fork and Dine which is only available at 3:45 or 7:30 that afternoon/evening. We were planning at 1/2 day at DHS concluding with a 12:20 lunch at SciFi. (On 12/21 we will have a 1/2 day PM at DHS) We really want to leave the later evening open just in case the weather is bad on 12/21 and we miss some Osborne Lights etc. So our preference would be the 3:45 PM show.

Questions:
  1. With a 12:20 PM lunch, will we have enough time to get to the AMC for the 3:45 movie? (Thinking allowing 2 hours to eat gets us out of there at 2:20 which allows more than an hour to get to Disney Springs - I think we should be fine but would love to hear what others think
  2. What would be the best transportation option - walk to Boardwalk and catch bus to DS, bus to POF and boat to DS, taxi, other?

1. 2 hours at Sci-Fi lunch would be unusually long.
2. Boardwalk.

I'm confused as to why you'd want to have a major lunch at Sci-Fi and then do Dining at AMC just a couple of hours (give or take) later.

I agree. If you're going to do the Fork and Dine at 3:45, cancel lunch at Sci-Fi.

We have never eaten at Sci Fi in all our trips and are going more for the atmosphere. Knowing we will be doing Fork and Dine, we'll probably be eating light / sharing at Sci Fi and then sharing some appetizer type food at Fork and Dine. Really more about enjoying the overall experience than eating full meals.

And I should mention that I have two growing teenage boys (14 & 17) - so I'm not really concerned about them not being hungry! (But I completely get what you are saying - before we understood that we could share on the Dining Plan - we had a lunch at Yak and Yeti and then an early Christmas Dinner at Whispering Canyon - way too much food and would never do that again.)

If you are concerned about crowded buses or long waits for buses (due to popularity of the movie), consider getting a cab or Uber.
