Timing question re: Ohana ADR time and MSEP/Wishes

Hello!

I was just able to book an ADR for Ohana for January 4 2015

However, I was originally planning on making the reservation for 4:30 to leave time to get back to the park for MSEP and Wishes. However, apparently dinner begins at 5 and reservations aren't available before then for dinner.

Our ADR, then, is for 5pm. MSEP begins at 8 and Wishes at 9. Will this leave us enough time to eat, travel back to the resort and catch MSEP? Or should we catch it another night and settle (ha, 'settle' seems like the wrong word here...) for just Wishes. This is on a 'recommended' night on easywdw but a 7/10 crowd level on touring plans.

1. You can. Arrive at 4:30-4:40 and check in. You should be seated close to on-time.
Ask for the bill right after you've ordered (so you'll know the liquor cost, if any) and settle up well before dessert.
Leave on the monorail by 6:30-6:45.

2. That's a more relaxing option.

I would think you would be fine, but questionable about back to the resort and back. Your dinner is 3 hours before the parade, should be fine, again, without heading back to the resort, unless you are possibly on the monorail loop.

I agree that with an ADR at opening, you stand a good chance of being seated near on time. At that point, I would allow about 90 minutes for dinner, which leaves you about 90 minutes to get back to MK for MSEP.

Personally, I would not do the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party on the same night as 'Ohana. 'Ohana is all-you-care-to-eat, so most folks leave feeling pretty stuffed. If you have a different night as an option, I would do 'Ohana and the Dessert Party to separate nights. In terms of the timing, it's probably not greatly different. From what I can tell, seating starts about 75 minutes before fireworks (according to the review on easyWDW), which should still leave you enough time to get from 'Ohana/Poly to the MK.

Ah, this is a great point - I got overly excited when I saw an available reservation and snatched it up Hmm... I will definitely have to think about this - thank you for bringing up something I should have thought about!
