Timing of ADR before Wishes Cruise

I am planning on surprising DH with a Wishes Cruise leaving from the Grand Floridian. Wishes is at 9:00, with an 8:00 meetup time and 8:30 departure on the boat. As of right now, we have a 5:30 ADR at Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner.

When I made the reservation for the cruise, the CM said that they recommend making dinner reservations for no later than 5:30 based on our cruise timing. However, this seems kind of excessive to me. (But knowing how Disney also recommends allowing 1.5 hours for transportation, I'm thinking this is just their overly cautious recommendation...)

I am looking at changing this to a 6:10 ADR which is currently available. I've never been to the Grand Floridian Cafe, so I'm not familiar with the speed of seating, service, etc. Thoughts on whether a 6:10 ADR would be cutting it too close to our 8:00 meetup for the cruise? Thanks so much!

I think your revised plan will be totally fine and I'm very conservative about these things. But at the GF Cafe and not having to go to a different resort, you'll be fine.

Great, thank you so much! Yes, the new ADR is still at GFC, so this will be good. So glad to get another opinion.
