While we wait for ROFR on our first ever DVC contract, we are working on planning out our Oct/Nov trip.
We've already booked parts of our reservation by renting points because we wanted 4 nights at BLT and didn't think we would get them by the time we get our membership (~ 6months).
What I've noticed is that while it's necessary to plan ahead for DVC, the park calendars aren't making it easy.
It seems like they could post 'plan ahead' information earlier. For example, we would like to try to attend both Mickey's Not So Scary Hallowe'en Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in our 10 day trip. It looks like that was possible last year, but there are no dates posted yet for 2014 for either.
For dining reservations, we need to pre-select our parks, but the extra magic hour schedules are only posted for 180+10. It would be great to have an extra couple of weeks to plan with this information before having to make the dining reservations.
These are just my observations, but we are very new here. I'm interested to know from other 'planners' out there like me if there are places to get this info, or at least a more educated guess, to help line up the planning with the data.
Thanks in advance for any advice
