Family of 5, first time to Disney and I have been using all the helpful information on the site, thanks everyone for the contributions. We will be at MGM on Saturday September 17th with tickets to the 6pm La Nouba show and was debating on Coral reef, Ca Grill, Le Cellier, or would I fare better choosing a downtown Disney Restaurant before show. Which would you pick, what time would you set reservation in order to make 6pm show, and what would be the easiest way to get to the show? Currently planning on the use of Disney transportation during our stay and I know this is about a 50/50 split on using Disney transportation verses using a rental car and still a toss up on our final transportation decision, but currently opting for Disney transportation.

Thanks

It's going to be hard to get from MGM to Epcot and then to DTD. I would stick with the park you're in. In MGM, 50s Prime Time is great for the decor and family friendliness. The food is darn good too! If you're going for food...Brown Derby and Hollywood & Vine are great too!!!

If you choose to go to Epcot instead, I would say La Cellier hands down. The steak there is amazing!! When I went, I didn't want it to end!!

You're going to have to have to leave for TTC or a hotel to transfer to get to DTD though at about 4:30 - 4:45 the latest...I like Disney Transportation a lot better than driving, but it will be quicker if you get a rental.

From the Disney Studios you might want to either boat or walk over to one of the Boardwalk resorts and take a Downtown Disney bus from there. We also love the food and atmosphere at the 50's Prime Time. You might want to have a late lunch there and then head over to either the Swan/Dolphin, or Boardwalk and take the bus to DTD. I would allow 45 minutes from the bus stop since you might have to wait a little for the bus. From the Studios you can get to the Boardwalk area via the Friendship boats, but they are slow. You can walk in about 10-15 minutes. Exit the Studios and keep walking with the water on your left and the parking lot on your right. That walk continues on to the Boardwalk. You may want to eat on the Boardwalk, but I don't think any of the dinners will start in time for you to get to your 6pm show. Menus for all Disney resorts are on allearsnet.com
By the way, get off at the second DTD bus stop....NOT the first.
