So, I've been looking at American's latest schedule for next year. They aren't up to the time I need just checking current flight times. Nothing non stop to home in Pittsburgh, but there is a flight out of San Diego to LAX and non stop from LAX to home. The flight from San Diego leaves at 11:15 am. Am I crazy to think about this flight? There are flights later at 12:30, but the connecting aren't as fortuitous.

Forgot to mention, I'll be coming off the PC Repo so customs might be longer. And I don't want to haul all of my luggage off the ship myself.

The airport in San Diego is quite close to the port. That being said, the customs/immigration (particularly on a PC cruise) in San Diego can be quite an issue. Personally, I'd look for something later in the afternoon.

We took the train from San Diego home after our last PC cruise (not DCL) and, while we were aiming for the 10:45 train (train station is only about 3 blocks from port) we barely made the 12:15 train. Mostly due to the non-US citizens that didn't show up in a timely manner to be cleared before they would clear the ship for everyone to debark.

We had arrived in SD around 7:30, and the non-US citizens were supposed to report to the theatre onboard early that morning so their paperwork could be checked before the ship actually docked. At 10:30 we were finally cleared for everyone to debark.

Thanks

This procedure was not in place for the 2014 WBPC cruise. Every passender left the ship at the same time, outside were two separate lines for US ciitzens and everyone else.

However, the ship cannot be cleared until all of the crew has gone through. I know that our cruise was late in getting off the ship. After my experience in 2014 I would not book a flight before 12pm. What does Disney say? There should be something in your cruise information (on the website, log in, pull up your reservation under My Reservations and then go to something like Pre-Arrival-Guide. If you chose print now, you will get a pdf document. That should have information about timing for your return flight).

Maybe someone who just got of the 2015 WBPC can chime in and report back on how it was handled in 2015.

I had a noon flight coming off this years PC cruise. I was super nervous having heard about previous cruises getting off late. The navigator said for people with flights before noon to see guest services during cruise. I was put on a special list. First to disembark were express walk off - carrying their bags. That was close to 8:30 I think. Maybe 15 minutes later my group ( early flights) was called. I was at airport by 9:30 I think.

In the end everything was fine - but I was a nervous wreck leading up to it - so I'd say get yourself the later time for peace of mind.
