Timetable for Fantasyland completion?

Hi!

We're in the early stages of planning a trip back to WDW for 2012. We were hoping to go maybe in November. But, now I'm seeing snippets of info that Fantasyland will still be under construction into 2013. We only go about every 3 years. So, I don't want to "just barely" miss out on something new. Wondering if we should hold off a few months and plan for spring 2013 instead?

Is there a construction timetable available somewhere? Something that would give me a rough idea of what new rides/attractions should be completed by late fall 2012 and/or by spring 2013?

Thanks so much for your help!

I don't think there has been any firm dates set for completion of any of the new additions.

My advice is to go whenever it is best for you to go. Granted, this is the biggest expansion they've ever announced but there's always going to be something new. So if you wait to see the completed Fantasyland, you're still going to miss the next big thing.

Bummer that there's not a timetable together yet. Guess I need to just be less antsy and wait it out. Certainly we'll know more before the end of 2011. And there's really no need for me to start planning before then, anyway.

I totally understand that there will always be something new coming. But, I have my weird-mommy-reasons for wanting Fantasyland to be done before we go this time. My youngest (and last) will already be 7 when we go back for this trip. She could easily be 10 before we're at WDW again. Kids just lose so much of that innocence and awe between 7 & 10... I've seen it happen to some extent with my older two. I really want the new Ariel Ride, Beauty & Beast Castle, Snow White Coaster & Princess Greeting area to be completed before we go back. DD2's such a "princess-girly-girl" and DD1 had inched toward tomboy by 10. I don't want to miss her doing all the new princess stuff and still being a "little girl". I know, I know, I'm a sap!!:sad2:

Thank you!!

BTW, you're going to love WDW at Christmas!! We did it in 2006/7 and so far it's my favorite time of year to be there. :)

OP: I completely understand your reasoning. My oldest is in 7th grade and my other two are almost 7 (next week!) and 4.5

If it's something you really want to experience with your DD, it would stink to go just before it opened when you could have just waited a few more weeks for your trip.

Like you, I'm awaiting more info before picking a date for our next trip.

We've been going every year, but I think we're going to have to space them out quite a bit more. I'd like to go next year to get at least one more "little kid" trip in, but it would be really great to see at least some of the new Fantasyland.

we were supposed to go in June 2012 but after reading everything about the expansion, my DH and I both decided that we're putting it off until 2013. (end of May). We had the same thinking as all of you.... if we're there in 2012 and it's NOT open, how much is that going to stink knowing that it's opening soon ? So, we thought it would be WELL worth the wait !

At first I was kind of bummed having to put it off, but I'm REALLY so excited now to see everything. (and eat at Gastons and ride the Seven Dwarfs mine!!)
