Hello. Does anyone know about Disney timeshares? I'm looking for one to go to Disney once every two years. If someone can give me a site about info on prices and such, that would be great. Thanks.

I am also a DVC owner and like disneydom, it's the best thing I've ever done. Disney is now selling Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, but you can purchase through resale the other properties.

The Timeshare Store (who sponsers these boards ) is an excellent place if you're looking to buy DVC through re-sale. Otherwise, you could go straight to Disney and buy directly thorugh them...you can click on the "current DVC resales" link at the top of this board or go to www.disneyvacationclub.com

I am interested in buying a disney timeshare and have found this site to be very helpful.
Can anyone tell me about the resales at the timeshare store?
I have talked to someone and he seems very nice and helpful.
Also does disney do resales or are they only selling SSR right now.
I think I would like to buy into the VWL/BC or OKW.
Any suggestions. I don't have young children anymore.
Help is apprecitated.

If you click on the link at the top of this board for the Timeshare store you can see the resales they have available It basically tells you the price, how many points, Use year,and if the contract has banked or borrowed points.

To buy direct ~ Disney is currently selling SSR but if you let them know that you are only interested in buying if you can buy into one of the sold out resorts such as VWL (or any of the others) I have heard the guides will sometimes work their magic and find a contract to sell you that they've bought back...problem with this is that there may be a waiting list that is quite long. BCV's for instance is a sold out resort and I read a post from someone who said the waiting list is 2 yrs long ...although the amount of points,UY you're looking for and resort will configure in I'm sure. They may not have any 150pt. contracts available for 2 yrs but may have 300pt contracts available in 2 weeks ...ya never know. You'd need to talk to a guide about it to know for sure what your chances are I suppose.

The old countdown timers do not work anymore due to the boards not being able to use "html" anymore. You can however go to tickerfactory.com , daisypath.com or a few others for the other versions like the one in my signature though.

Well I did it!!!
Put a bid in for VWL through the TSS which was accepted by the owner now I guess I wait for disney.
A little nervous but looking forward to becoming a member.
I'm sure I'll have lots of questions about using my points.

As mentioned it's the code used for one of the old countdown timers you had originally set up. That old code (called HTML) is no longer used. I'll clean it off your signature for you.

I did put an offer on VWL/300 points that was accepted by the owner through the time share store. The ball is rolling, we'll see if it gets passed the dvc people.

I'm betting that will pass, and it's a GREAT contract. Congratulations!

One thing you may want to watch is your banking deadlines. You have until May 31, 2005 to bank 50-100% of your available points. You can bank up to a cumulative total of 50% prior to August 31, and up to 25% cumulative prior to September 30.

That first date is pretty close, so as soon as you pass ROFR, you should think about banking and possibly get the seller to bank for you. You may not be fully closed and in the system to do your own banking by May 31...especially if Disney drags out ROFR.

We are getting 280 points from the 2004 allocation and 300 points for 2005.
I already told our agent at the timeshare store to bank the 280 points as soon as possible until I get a handle on all of this. He said they can do that.
I don't have to worry about the 300 points coming Dec 2005 yet, do I?
Like I said, I will have alot of questions and am thankful that this board is here.

No, you have until May '06 to worry about your 2005 points.
