Timeshare Tour-Marriott Opinions HELP

Hi,

I am looking to take my family to Disney and saw an add for a timeshare tour at the Marriott in Orlando. The package is for 5 days for only $299. The catch is you need to take a 90 minute sales tour.

Has anybody done one of these? I am not looking to purchase a timeshare so I am afraid if I say no we will lose our room or something.

Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

We previewed the Marriott Horizons (We got Disney Dollars) It was very low pressure and they were VERY nice and said Well Although you are not interested today, we hope you will consider us in the future.
I would definitly do it! Do you mind sharing where you got that info??

I have done the Marriott tour years ago and found it to be very low pressure.

No, no, they won't kick you out for saying no - most people who take timeshare tours end up saying no. It's just part of the timeshare sales game. All you're agreeing to by accepting the deal is to attend the presentation. I'd suggest that if you end up following up on this offer you should ask your questions about what's involved in the presentation, where you'll be staying, what size villa you'll be in, etc., when you call but before you agree to stay on that offer.

I did this exact same tour last May & stayed at the Grande Vista!! It was FABULOUS!!! We stayed in a 1 bdr villa it was beautiful. We took our 90 minute tour, said no thanks, the rep called over his manager, we had to say no thanks to him & we were on our way.

We did this last year. It wasn't that bad, it was low pressure. The salesman we had was really nice. He was from the Dominican Republic and spent more time telling us we should go there on vacation!LOL

If you need a two bedroom with this deal you will be put in Cypress Harbour and then you will have to go over to Grande Vista for the tour. They aren't far apart. It took probably three minutes to get there.

I swear, I must be on my 8th Marriott timeshare tour and I have yet to buy but they keep calling and offering those great deals. Very low pressure.

Personally, my time is too valuable to do this---there are so many ways to stay in Orlando inexpensively, even during peak seasons, that this has never appealed to me.

If there was one I would do, though, it would be Marriott's.

We are staying at two of them next month. Four nights at Marriott Horizons (I think it was $199 but no extra tix etc.) and a 90 minute tour. Also, Vistana Villages for four nights for $169 (no tour required but I'm sure they'll ask!). The best part is that we will have a two bedroom unit in each of them. We are rounding out our stay with 5 nights at Nick Hotel (on points).
