Can anybody recommend a good, reputable timeshare rental web site? I've seen some good deals on some web sites, but I want to make sure I'm going through a company that is recommended by DISers.

Redweek .com is a good site. I've done both, rented to and rented from.

Many sites (like redweek) are really only the marketplace; in those, you are renting directly from an owner, and so the site has nothing to do with the actual transaction. VRBO works this way, as well.

hotelkingdom, on the other hand, is a "traditional" booking site, much like expedia etc.

I have been to Disney quite a few times and always state on-site, which I love. The problem is, my husband and I have RCI points that we are not using. I would like to find a good resort that is convenient to WDW, that wouldn't be a hassle to get to and from. I will keep reading, as I am new here and I am sure there is a wealth of information!

We stayed at the Orange Lake Resort several years ago. Very convenient to DW. We are not RCI members but as I recall this resort was considered Gold Crown or Gold Star - not sure of the correct term - but Orange Lake was considered top of the line in RCI category.

I think all the ones that say RCI POINTS in red - are the one you can use.

Wyndham Bonnett Creek Resort
Silver lake
Cypress Pointe - only part (Vacation Internationale Cypress Pointe)
Sheraton Vistana Resort
Vacation Villa at Parkway
Hilton Grand Vacation Club at SW or ID
Houses at Summer Bay

don't think you have a change at Bonnett Creek - but hey ask anyway
Silver Lake, Cypress Pointe or Sheraton Vistana - are all really, really close to WDW

Vacation Villa or HGVC is not too much further

the houses are furthest - but hey it is a HOUSE.

Thank you for this information. I will check it out. I really love staying in WDW, but feel as though we are wasting our money by not using up the points, and I don't seem to want to go anywhere else now!!

Thank you for the link. I am going to look at it right now. I would love to be able to book another trip, and if I can use our points I will be able to book sooner! I think the Sheraton Vistana is the one I wanted to stay at when we went the first time, but we were only staying two days and then moving to the All Star Resort, and they wouldn't do it by the day. I think it was Sliver Lake we ended up staying, which was really nice, but I couldn't tell you how far away I thought it was. Thanks again for all the information!

We stayed at Cypress Pointe in 05 using our points and added on a couple of days to the stay using Hotel Kingdom. They have a good cancellation policy as well. Cypress Pointe is a nice resort, it does have some painting and other remodeling going on right now though. Good luck.

Silver Lake has a back door - so unless you use it - it seems far away.

but with the back door it is only a minute or two.

turn left out the back (not front) - then at the traffic light - turn right - you are now on Disney property (turning left here would be AKL)
