Just wondering if anyone has ever rented a Disney resort timeshare from anyone. My husband and I just decided to go to WDW in Sept for our 5th anniversary. We are debating whether to book a Dream Makers pkg through AAA or not. I've found some pretty good deals on timeshare rentals through Ebay which means I'd have to also book airfare, buy tickets, and arrange transportation. Does anyone have any opinions on this?

I would not use Ebay for a timeshare. You will pay to much in most cases. First check out the DVC rent and trade board here on the Dis. I think you can rent them for $10 a point.
For a studio in Sept you will need 80-104 points for a whole week depending on where you want to stay. If you go Sun thru Thurs it would be alot less 40-60 points.

Are you talking DVC or otherwise? If the price is right, I'd definitely consider ebay. You should be able to rent for around $10 pp, more or less, for DVC. You'd know who you were dealing with up front and have some control. Still, it comes down to trust on both the rener's and rentee's part. Just don't rull out ebay automatically for either purchase or rental.

I always find houses to rent on ebay. I have never had a problem. Last november I found a beautiful 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom 2 minutes from Disney for 700 for 7 nights. That included pool heat and cleaning and taxes. Not bad. You can almost always do better by booking yourself.
