We are currently booked in a 2 bed/2 bath at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas but just this weekend got a call from Starwood offering us a great rate for a 2 bed/2 bath at Vistana Villages -- of course we must do their timeshare presentation.

Has anyone done a timeshare presentation at the Villages? We're seriously considering it as we just might buy into a timeshare. Please any thoughts ASAP as the woman will be calling back tonight!!

Many thanks to all.

My wife and I did the "tour" last year. The sales person was excellent and not pushy at all. After the 90 minutes, I told them I was not interested (some sales people you must be firm), then his mananger came over made us a better offer we declined, she said okay and we left.

Vistana Villages is a nice place, but do some research via http://www.tug2.net and research Orlando. Orlando resorts are great to buy if you want to go to the same resort every year, but maintenance fees are extremely expensives and they don't trade well.

Just keep your options open and remember buying from a developer will be much more expensive then buying a timeshare resale.

Our first and only (so far) timeshare tour was at V V last year. It was a no pressure talk and tour. Our kids even went with us, but slept through most of it in the stroller. The breakfast wasn't very exciting and the talk ran a little long, but we did not realize we could have ended it after 90 minutes. It was not at all painful.

What was the rate offered? We could not find any cheap V V rates for Oct. this year, so we booked at Wyndham Palms for their timeshare rate.

Thanks to the replies on Vistana Villages timeshare info.

Momof2inPA - I got a phone call from a Starwood Preferred representative (we are members of Starwood) for a 4 night/5 day stay at Vistana Villages for a total of $209. I said that I wanted a 2 bed/2 bath and she said I could add an additonal $20 per night which brings the total to only $289!! If we wanted an add'l night or two then it would be $120 extra for a 6th night. We already have a 2 bed/2 bath booked at Cypress Palms Grand Villas for a total of $487 for 5 nights but with no timeshare tour.

We were thinking of switching because we have been going to Orlando off-site for the last few years and thought we might be interested in this.

I would still be very open to any other thoughts and suggestions!!

Again, thanks for your comments.:bounce:

That sounds like a great rate for Vistana Villages. I would take that in a second, especially knowing that the timeshare tour is fairly low key.

I am waiting for another phone call. We went to the vv last Aug and it was great. We also got a great rate. I want them to call me again for our next trip.
I would definitely switch. Plus with the timeshare tour we got a continental breakfast(bagels, muffins etc) and also 2 tickets to a theme park. Are they still offering the free tickets?? Thats a $100 savings in its self.

Not only was the first vv timeshare presentation low key, but the next year we went back and they offered us another one. Apparently when you check in they will offer you some incentive to try again and again and again, No matter how many times you have been there. Well this one was easier than the first. The guy asked us if anything had changed since last year that could lead to us purchasing a time share and we said no. He then said ok and left us to watch some video presentation on his laptop. He came back asked us if this changed our mind and we said no. A manager came over and offered us next years stay at a discount rate (which by the way was not that good of a deal, I have always done better at Hotelkingdom.com) She asked us if we felt pressured or unhappy with the presentation and we said no it was great. That was it we were on our way.

PS I have also heard that Marriot offers a no pressure timeshare presentation.

I got a similar offer. The original offer was $269 and when I called they lowered it to $209. I too was quoted a price of an extra $20 per night for the two bedroom unit . The offer also included a $100 voucher or 8000 starpoints.

Has anyone received any different or better offers?

Steve

about this timeshare. We will be 4 adults and 2 children so I'd love a three bedroom unit if they are available, but I guess we can do with two 2 bdrm units if the price is right. But the question is...will they offer me that kind of price if only my husband and I "qualify" for the timeshare presentation?

We will be travelling with my mom and MIL so of course, they are not eligible according to all the requirements I see for other timeshares. And I can't seem to find anything that would offer a great rate for the Vistana Village or the Vistana Resort.

Can someone help me with this? Is there a number I can call for information and perhaps get offered a good rate? And as far as proximity to the Disney parks, is either one better? And does one rate better than the others?

Thanks for the info.

I was also offered as one of the above posters wrote either $100 in Starwood $ (good at local locations in Orlando) or 8,000 Starpoints put into my account.

No, we were not offered any tix. with this presentation and I really don't know for sure how to go about getting this package "offered" to you. Maybe call Starwood or Vistana?

Again, thanks for all the help.

yeah to qualify just tell them you make 80000 a year, hell tell them your a millionaire. All they do is ask, they dont verify anything.
