Timeshare for single father

OK I am thinking about visiting Disney in a few weeks possibly for myself and my daughter. I am a single father but noticed on most of the qualifications that it says married or single females. So is it totally insane that a man can have custody of his child and still qualify otherwise? Does anyone know if timeshare promotions allow this and its just not labeled out in the qualifications specifically and I would still be considered a "family"? Or does anyone know of any places that this wouldst be a problem with or maybe someone had a similar experience/situation?

The only qualifications I've seen for visiting a timeshare presentation are that if you are married, both spouses must attend and there is typically a minimum household income requirement as well. But with that aside, spending up to several hours at a timeshare presentation is probably not the best use of your vacation time and the sales tactics may leave you frustrated and angry, the last things you want to feel while on vacation!

My brother is a divorced father. He did a timeshare presentation last summer at the Hilton's Parc Soleil. He said the place itself was very nice and the sales presentation was not high-pressure.

I would highly recommend looking in to the Time Users Group or TUG2 dot net before you go anywhere or buy anywhere. There are tons of timeshare for sale and rent if you want to try somewhere before you buy.

We own DVC and love it, my inlaws own timeshare and 99% of the time trade through RCI and we have never had a bad stay. Some are better than others, but I love having 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen and a W/D for the week! 4 people staying a in standard hotel room feels very cramped after the luxury of a 2 bedroom unit. LOL

I second going on tug2.net and studying on how to purchase a timeshare. There are plenty of "sticky notes" to get you started and the folks on tug are very helpful. I recommend the resale or "free" route (people who want no longer want their timeshare and "give" it to someone else to take over the maintenance fees). Study up on using RCI to trade your timeshare. Know your timeshare trading power points with RCI. I would avoid buying directly from the developer at all costs - you will be over paying.
