Hi all,

As promised, here is a brief report of the new store, along with pictures. I got there just before 1pm and walked right in. The store wasn't crowded at all and there were CMs at the entrance handing umbrella bags to entering patrons. I did a quick circuit of the ground floor, which has Disney NYC merchandise right up front, then more traditional merchandise along the sides and back.

There's also a big Vinylmation stand on the ground floor, towards the back.

After the quick peek at the ground floor, I went upstairs to see the magic.

Great pics!!

I loved the new couture line in the back left next to the registers. There are some amazing shirts there I just have to get

I'm planning to go back on Tuesday for the grand opening. By then, I hope to have figured out what I want to buy. I was so busy gawking yesterday that I was late back to work after lunch and didn't have time to shop!

I think I liked the World of Disney Store on Fifth Avenue better.

I kind of expected that. The World of Disney store at 55th & 5th was huge, 3+ floors, and had tons of park stuff in it. I don't know about the Times Square store, but the Imagineers designed the WoD store.

This new store would have to have something really special to top that one, especially when it was in its heyday (active meet & greet area, party rooms, etc.).

There are some really special effects on the second floor, but this isn't a World of Disney store. It's a Disney Store, so it won't have the park merchandise.
