Hi,
I know they say the ceremony and champagne reception total only 1 hour but am I right in presuming that you can make it last a little longer than that?
ie. After ceremony and staged exit could you stay at the WP for an additional say 30 mins for photos and then make the transfer to the GF for the cake cutting etc. Also does anyone know if you can extend the time there to total about an hour, to get in the cake cutting, speeches, first dance, photos and general 'mingling' with the guests so it isn't such a rush and if so what are the additional costs, or are you shipped in and shipped out in 30mins like I have been told at both the WP and GF? I know you can't hang around long at the loctaions because of other weddings but surely you have longer than 30mins at each location don't you?:confused3 Also (and finally!) can you have some wedding photos taken around the GF grounds even if you are actually having your dinner reception somewhere else or is this a no no?
Thanks

The ceremony is not going to take 30 minutes. I would say more like 10-15. I had characters show up in addition to everything else and it was still all done in under an hour. You will have plenty of time...and even if you want more I cannot recall anyone here saying they were ever kicked out or rushed. I would ask your planner for a definitive answer.

Yes, you take pictures on the GF grounds.

My presumption is that they are VERY strict on time limits because they have another wedding coming in right after you. They need you out so they can set up for the next people. Keep in mind that if you are getting married at the wedding pavilion your time limit is 1.5 hours. You are free to dictate how each minute is spent. You could only have a 15 minute ceremony if you like and save the rest of the time for pics and mingling.

We had the WP and the cake cutting at the GF. You only get the photographer for 2 hours - starts 30 minutes before the ceremony, then after the ceremony (ours was 10 minutes) we took pics at the WP for 30 minutes or so. Then we were shuttled to the GF for cake cutting, first dance and my dad did a toast. When our photographer left he said he was over his time and had to head out - so it was after 4 and our ceremony was at 2:30, so we got more time than 30 minutes in each place - BUT we were the only wedding at the WP or the GF that day (know about the WP because we were the only ones on the sign, and the GF because my planner told us). We stayed on that patio with the rest of our drinks mingling until about 5:15 when it was time to head to Narcoossee's for dinner. We told our planner we were going to do this and she had no issues with it - if we'd left no one was coming in after us anyway. They had already boxed up all the cake and the planner and servers had left before we did, but they'd done their parts so no big deal. I'd imagine if there aren't any other weddings coming in after you on your day, you could do something similar.

Thank you for your replies. (By the way it is my niece getting married not me lol I'm just finding out the info for her)
She feels a better now as she wasn't sure if there would be enough time to take the photos she wanted at each location but it sounds like there will be now so thanks again.
