Timekeeper closes for good

Are you kidding? We finally got around to seeing this attraction on our last trip, and we LOVED it. Oh well, onwards and upwards I guess. At least I got to see this, unlike Mr. Toad.... boohoo....

Very disapointed we were hoping to do this on our next trip now we cant see it all all :(

Actually, the Carousel of Progress technically isn't "seasonal" anymore, since the attraction has been running every day again since the closure of Alien Encounter in 2003.

Has it been open consistently for that long??? Shows you how old I'm getting...time seems to be going faster. I could've sworn during our summer trip in 2004, we were glad it was open as it was only open during more crowded times. Doesn't matter...just glad it's still there and operating!

I am currently listing to the soundtrack from Timekeeper on Live365. I was one who liked it and will miss it..smjj

Not a joke...
Rumor has Timekeeper resurfasing in Epcot FW. Anyone? Anyone?

I do not believe that is correct. We go rather often and there have been many times it was closed.

In all of the trips we have taken the Timekeeper was only open once - July 3rd-4th, 2005.

We are going from Feb 22-28. Will it be open on its last day?

OK, am I the only person to not only be "not sad" at the closing of the Timekeeper, but actually happy to see it go? Seriously, it was my least favorite attraction at MK until Stitch opened. I can't believe Disney waited until 2006 to close it. That's 5 years of returning to the year 2000 because they didn't reshoot the New York City scene. I'll ignore a lot in the name of magic (i.e., pretend there was never a lagoon for 20K even though it was RIGHT THERE behind the fence in Fantasyland for years), but was just the height of crass. I didn't like the attraction anyway (so why did you keep returning to it, blueroses? because I can't stand to miss any attraction ever, even ones I don't like :) ), but that put it over the edge.

On the other hand, I would handcuff myself to the Carousel of Progress if Disney said that one would be closed. :)

Timekeeper's closing has been a long time in coming . . . in the movie they go through New York City and the World Trade Center is clearly visible -- prominent, even. Because of this, the "present" has always been listed as "2000." It has been hard for me to enjoy Timekeeper because of the jolt I get when it gets to that part. They had to make the decision to either update the movie or remove it and do something else. I enjoyed Timekeeper, too, and thought it was really unique, but after 9/11 it was just a matter of time before they removed or changed it.

I saw it for the first time (and I guess, the last time) in June 2004, and that was my reaction as well.

I was there last week and they have moved the meet and great with the characters to the outside of the Timekeeper and they had the doors shut all last week. I have to assume that they have already started to clear the space out. It's sad, I can't even remember that much from the attraction since it has been closed the last several times that I have been.

I really hope that what ever they put there is much better than what they did to Alien Encounter (even though I can't even remember AE either, but I know that Stitch can't be any better!)
