Time Zone in Cozumel

Hello there, doing Western Carrib 10/31, who anyone know what time zone the SHIP observers for Cozumel? The real time zone in Cozumel is Eastern time, but planning to book excursion outside of Disney and need to understand the timing correctly so we arent cutting it too close on the way back

Having just done the western cruise we set our clocks back one hour the night before Cozumel and then ahead one hour the night after Jamaica. Since we started out in Eastern Daylight Time (having sprung ahead in the spring for daylight savings) this means we moved to Central Daylight Time (USA) or Eastern Standard Time (rest of the caribbean as they do not follow daylight savings) for the three days in port and ship time was the same as the time in port.

Cozumel in Feb of this year adopted Eastern Standard Time and do not set their clocks to daylight savings like we do. Falling back one hour put the ship time and the Cozumel time the same.

You are in a predicament as the time zone changes from EDT to EST on the Sunday night you cruise. So the question that I cannot answer is does the ship fall back one hour like on my recent cruise and make the time equal or does the ship fall back two hours (one to fall back to standard time and one to move to central time) making ship time 1 hour behind port time.

If I had to guess I would think the ship would fall back one hour and then never move forward at the end of the cruise.

*** Ironically starting next year Grand Cayman will start following daylight savings while Cozumel and Jamaica will not.

Cozumel is in the Central Time Zone. I live in the Central Time Zone in the Panhandle of Florida and traveled to that part of Mexico for my senior trip. I remember it well bc at the time I thought it was strange to be in another country, but have the time stay the same.
