What do you think? We are 3 hours behind California time. My DD2 is a late sleeper as it is and is a night owl. I'm kinda worried about the time change when we are at DLR. We are there for 3 days (but we'll be in California for 5 days before we hit DLR so maybe she'll adjust by then). Would it be feasible and doable at the end of June do get alot done in the parks at night with little time in the day?

I've been thinking, would it be better to just let her sleep in the morning until she wakes up on her own, see what time it is, kinda take it easy and go to DLR for awhile, come back nap and then hit it hard at night until closing. But from everyithing i've read, it's better to get there really early. What do you think? Any suggestions?

THANKS!!

The morning and later night times are the best parts of the day. In fact, we get more done in the first two hours than the rest of the day. There are lots of places in DL to take it easy, and the early afternoon is a great time to go back to the hotel and take a nap and freshen up for the evening. The morning is also the best time for those that wouldn't otherwise appreciate DL, since the park can be enjoyed without the usual push and shove of the afternoon/evening crowds. June is an especially busy time of year to boot.

I thought Hawaii was 2 hours behind in the Spring/Summer...You know Spring forward, Fall back. So Oct through April is 3 hours behind and April through Oct is 2 hours back or something like that??? If she's super exhausted I'd let her sleep in and go according to her. But if you're getting a stroller, maybe she can sleep in it?

How long do you have til your trip? When my kids were small I used to try to slowly change their sleeping times at home for a few weeks before a trip to ease into the time change. Maybe you could try to wake her up early for a while at home and then start to put her to bed earlier. It seemed to help my kids though we had to switch the other way so we all wouldn't be woken up hours and hours before the parks would open. :scared1:

I'd try to adjust her sleep schedule about 10 days or so before your trip. Getting there first thing in the morning is CRUCIAL to wait times. I don't know why it works that way, but we were astounded to find that every ride we walked on to (Nemo, Peter Pan, Dumbo etc.) had a wait of 45 minutes by the time we exited the ride. My family was SO thrilled that I had taken charge and insisted we get there early, because it truly freed up SO much time.

Take a rest in the middle of the day. We took a break from about 12:30-3:30 every day and it was perfect.
