Time to watch the Green Acres Marathon

I'm going to lay on my couch all night and watch "Green Acres" until I'm as stupid as everyone on the show.

This show is on every afternoon here. When I was younger (i.e. when it first aired) I was frustrated by the stupidity of the characters and couldn't understand Oliver's motivations for living on the farm.

But now, I am gently amused by the quirkiness of the characters and the dilemmas they find themselves in.

I loved this show!
One of my favorites was about Lisa saving the deer at hunting season. She was in a plane and using a megaphone she was shouting at the deer to get them to move to a non-hunting area.
My husband said I must have wriiten that script!

"Pig? Aronold's no pig- he's my son!"

I love this show, as well! I love the one where Oliver is explaining the the electrical system in their house. (You can not go above a 7 and he has rated each applicance in the house and told Lisa not to go above a 7)
I guess I found this episode particularly amusing since my ex-husband was an electrician and I could so relate to it!

We watched some of the marathon too. I love that show; always have. I wish they'd put on Petticoat Junction too.

Arnold the Pig rules! I think it's so funny how everyone except Oliver understands his grunts.

You'll be happy to know that I watched the marathon until about 3 AM and finally nodded off. But I also caught an episode this morning. The one where Eb sees a flying saucer. Love that one.

My favorite episode of all is the one where Eb is trying to win a radio contest, but the cow swallows the radio. So he has to listen to the cow's stomach to hear the contest song - which has the same tune for every song, even though they all have a different title.

Belly laughs are the standard when watching this show.

Green Acres was one of my favorites too. I watched a few episodes this morning. Arnold is definitely my favorite character. I was laughing this morning because he was barking like a dog when Oliver knocked on Mr. Ziffle's door.

Without a doubt, I find it to be the funniest sitcom ever made. Everything about it is pure genius. The cast is perfect. The contrast between Oliver and the townspeople (and even his wife) is just enough to make it hilarious. The frustration he feels when he's trying to get his point across - classic.

In all the years since GA was first run, I don't think there's a writer out there that's been able to match up to the brilliance of any GA script.

I haven't seen enough of it, really. Not a big T.V. watcher in general, and don't have cable. The coupla GA shows we have on video are the only ones I've seen, and it's been a few years since we last watched 'em. But my spouse has always liked the show, and he was the one who insisted on getting the videos when we saw 'em one day.
