Not going to sugar coat it, life is hard & messy for everyone right now. Life is confusing, tension is rising globally and everyone is on edge. How about sharing some of the things that make us proud to call Canada home while we stand together, elbows up, the true North, strong and free!
This YouTube Video is making the rounds today and I have to share it, with a couple of warnings - might need a tissue and be ready to do some fist pumping, got me in all the feelings

“Toronto filmmaker Tim Thompson is best known for his thought provoking music montages that opened Hockey Night In Canada telecasts on the CBC. Millions of people have been moved by these stirring pieces, that touch the heart, awaken the past, and shake the inner spirit.
His work continues, under his own independent production company, and at the CBC. The former professional hockey player, and self-taught artist has also made an array of documentaries, music videos and short films.”

Dear Canada YouTube Video

That's a great video. We as Canadians are truly blessed to have been born here or chosen to move here to live our lives. Canadians care for those less fortunate and living throught hard times. There was a time when this was difficult.

I remember a story my grandmother told me of life in Saskatoon during the depression. My grandfather had a job during those years so they always had food to eat. They lived near the railroad, that's who he worked for, and she said men would often come to her door looking for something to eat. They had been riding the rails in search of... She always managed to make their meager rations stretch a little further and give these men something to eat instead of just hoarding the food for her family.

I am most proud of our looking out for others. Charity begins at home.

A wonderful thread! Thank you so much @Donald - my hero for starting it.

I think of all the people . . . regardless of income or means . . . who support their neighbourhood telethons to raise money to purchase desperately needed medical equipment like CATSCAN machines for local hospitals. 'Back the CAT' has been a local rallying cry for years. As most of us know, our healthcare isn't really free and expensive specialized equipment isn't just given to us by our government. Without quiet private donors and local communities doing the heavy lifting, many of us wouldn't have the care we need when we really need it.

:thanks:
