Time to Process Paperwork

We FINALLY are joining DVC, we are buying into BLT.
As soon as I made a deposit, they let us book at BLT, we have a ressie for a 1 BR, Lake View the week of October 12th.
I just mailed the Fedex envelope with all the paperwork (we had to wait a few days to send in the balance of the deposit, with all the other forms...and we are financing through DVC).

So my question...any rough guesses on how long it will take before we are 'official' members? DVC should get the Fedex tomorrow.

These days, it seems the closings are taking about 3 weeks from the time they receive the paperwork.

Depends on what you mean by official. If closing that could be up to a month although more likely two to three weeks after they tell you your loan is approved. They will tell your loan is approved and thus your contract is accepted within a few days after they receive the paperwork. Because this is a holiday weekend time, you might not get confirmation until end of next week.

I know it sounds crazy, but don't be affraid to call in DVC and ask some questions if it takes more then 10 days after you close. We figured out that our 'fees' were posted to the wrong member account 4 days after close. Had we not called, we would have waited for a very long time for the resale title company to step in and help us out.

Once the problem was found, Disney took care of it very quickly. Although the error was Disney's, the title companies don't reconcile their closings to make sure they 'went' through.

So in summary, call in to Disney and don't be affraid to ask questions after a resale. They are extremely helpful.
