First of all I want to say thanks for all the support I've gotten from my DIS family during my mother's illness & death. It REALLY meant a lot to me...and helped me get through. It looks like I'm going to sell my LEXINGTON home and move in with my father. I've been living there for the past 6 months (With NO computer, uhh) anyway taking care of Mom. While I'm going to use most of the profit on the sell to pay off Dad's house, I do believe I see an add-on DVC in my future.;)

Okay, now my question. Anyone have the link to the thread about what I need to bring when staying DVC? I've got back several pages and the search function is disabled.....

Thanks!

Not a link ,but a collection of different stuff from various threads.:)

We were in a 1 bedroom last week, we like to bring leftovers back to the room. We brought foil and plastic bags. We wish we would have had some paper plates. Seems a waste to dirty a dish for pizza!

I also like to bring a night light. With the configuration of a 1BR at least, it's nice to be able to put that in and not have to leave the *big* lights on. Next time I will also bring a shower cap and a few extra Bounce sheets for the dryer. And I agree with paper plates. Will definitely mark that on the grocery list!

Have a great trip!

That was a great post and thank you so much for doing that. WE are spending 5 days there in Sep 2004 and I needed to know what to bring and someone gave me this post. That as great! Again thank you.

:bounce:

just remember if flying no swiss army knife or nail clippers/file.
my dh lost his monogramed swiss knife during security because he forgot it was in there. if you have to take them make sure there in the bags to be checked

Thanks RoutemanDan! We will be at OKW in October and you just answered my questions in one post! :D

I didn't see kitchen towels or wash cloths on the list. Do they give you them or should I bring my own? Thanks!

You get a dish towel and a sponge. Also, I have been known to use a bath towel to dry a clean dish in a pinch. I brring those laundry tablets, so I can throw the towels into the wash a couple of times while we're there.

We also make sure to bring enough coffee filters to last the trip so that we don't have to buy a whole box when we're there. If we're just going for a few days, we'll bring our own coffee; if we're going for longer, we buy it when we do our grocery run.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but DH is. I think I remember coffee coming prepacked in a filter...you just pop the whole thing into the basket. Are they still around?

Definitely bring a cheap night light with you if you are staying in a 1BR. The lights can be bright if you wake up during the night. We forgot to bring one with us and I added it to my packing list so I won't forget next time. Actually, I told DH that I am going to create a travel pack with all of the essentials and as I see items on sale I am going to add them to my pack. This will save me time having to shop prior to our next trip. Annmarie

Yes, I think those are what they sell at the stores at DVC, in addition to regular ground coffee.
