Time to DOUBLE up!! 2 for 1 Pre-TR!!!!!!! TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED!!!!!!!

Aw..thanks for sharing the whole story about Ana. I didn't really know it all. I know my story is completely different, but I can relate to the doctor/hospital visits..surgeries..all that. I remember going in for one of my surgeries when I was about 4 or 5..they had to literally hold me down when they were trying to put me to sleep..I just kept kicking and screaming..for some reason I got really scared that time. :confused3

I'm so glad Ana's getting a wish. Make some hints to her to pick WDW!

There is more that I will share at a later date... maybe if she asks to a WDW wish then I can start a Wish Trip Report.

I can totally understand how you were scared at 4 years old. Sometimes the unknown is scarier than the actual procedure. It was hard with Juliana being 1... but easier at the same time. One of the hardest parts was she wasn't totally able to communicate how she was feeling... and that was hard on Melody and I.princess:

Of course you'd have to do a TR Tim! You think I'd let you get away with going and not doing one?! HA. :flower3:

I totally understand. Before the little guy could talk, I hated not knowing what was making him cry after trying everything and anything to make him stop.

I was just stopping in to let you all know that we are headed to NYC tomorrow to see the Princess & the Frog premiere!!! There is also a meet & greet after the show with the princesses and a bunch of other cool stuff. We were going to take the train into the city but decided on just driving in. We are seeing the 1pm show! I'm sure I'll have a ton of pictures to share with you. This will be Juliana's first time in NYC.

Side note:: Did anyone notice the princess smilie is not on the regular list anymore??? Now you have to click on 'more' to find it. :confused3:confused3

Sorry about that.. it was just an observation. LOL

Have a wonderful time in NYC and enjoy the show. I've never been there...Mark would never take me all the years he went (he hates NY).

If you are ever in the area, I'll give you a NYC tour.:) It is just very expensive. If you make 100K you are just making ends meat.. probably living in a shoebox of an apartment.

I'm glad I don't live there, I just like visiting! :)

Mark always said it was very expensive. He also said it was Chicago all over again--just bigger and dirtier. ;) Oldest son, Andy, loved it when he went to Yankee Stadium in 2008.

Have fun at the premiere..is it too geeky to say I'm looking forward to the movie myself!

I'm watching the Weather Channel right now. It looks like you got a lot of rain today. Drive safely!

Hi Tim! :yay: I'm here, I promise I haven't forgotten about you and I have been reading along. My lap top died on me (sure, right AFTER Black Friday) so I've been forced on to the "real computer" upstairs and I can't really multi-task like I'd like to :rotfl2:

I'm so so so happy for Juliana getting her wish granted - how fabulous! :wizard: I can't wait to hear what she chooses and what your plans are. You're are right - she deserves it and so do you and Mel! I can't ever imagine being a parent and going through what some parents do, such as yourselves.

Have a great trip to NYC and post pics! :)

I think most of you know that Juliana has been through some struggles in her short life already. For those who don't know, Juliana was diagnosed with cancer. At her 1 year well check up, her pediatrician felt what she thought was an enlarged spleen. Juliana was sick the week before (one of only 2 times she was sick in her first year) so our pedi thought it could of been from that. We went back to the doctor two weeks later and it was still there. From the pediatrician office they sent us to get an ultasound and bloodwork. They did the ultasound and didn't even get to the bloodwork. They sent us back to the pediatricians office. We immediately knew something was wrong.

When we arrived back at the pediatricians they had someone waiting at the door for us and immediately brought us into her office. She gave us directions to CCMC (Connecticut Children's Medical Center) and said that they were expecting us. Needless to say we were freaking out. We arrived at CCMC around 2pm and it was too late to do a CAT scan so we went home. We had an appointment the next morning for her CAT scan.

We were supposed to make her drink 100cc of the dye so they can get a good view on what was going on inside her. Juliana didn't drink anything but water and milk- so we forced as much of the fluid in as we could. When we got to the hospital she was supposed to drink another 100cc of the fluid. This was the first time meeting Juliana's nurse Barbara. We needed to get the fluid into her, so I was holding Juliana and Barbara was using a syringe to get it into Ana's mouth. Juliana was screaming and fighting us for over an hour. (Barbara remembers this to this day.. and we think she is still traumatized by it).

She had her CAT scan and after we were sitting in a room in the oncologists office. Our family was in the waiting room- it was just Juliana, Melody, and I in the room. 2 doctors and Barbara came in and told us that Juliana had what they thought was a Wilms Tumor- a malignant cancer. The feeling that I had at that moment I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. How can a kid who was hardly ever sick go from being healthy one day to having cancer the next?

I have more details that I will talk about at a later date but Juliana ended up with a nephrectomy- the removal of her kidney and about 6 months of chemotherapy. She is doing very well now and we thank God every day that we have her.

Our nurse has been asking us when we were going to apply to Make-A-Wish for Juliana. Melody finally did a few weeks ago and Juliana was approved for a wish! We are really excited for her! We received a letter saying that Juliana was being assigned wish granters and they will be contacting us in the next few weeks to set up an appointment to see what Juliana's wish will be. We are hoping she wishes to goto Disney! We would be able to stay at Give Kids the World Village and I think it would be the best trip ever.

So that is the news for now. (There is no baby news... sorry to disappoint :sad2: LOLOL)

How in the heck did I miss this!?!!? Congratulations to Juliana on having her Wish Granted. Tim, it's time to start brainwashing that kid - you don't want to end up with a pony or an elephant! :rotfl2: Just kidding! I'm sure whatever Juliana wishes for will be PERFECT! And if she does happen to Wish for Disney, I may just have a few tips for you after our trip in just 2 days (well, one actually since it's now Dec 1st!)

This is so funny! When I found out, I totally warned him that he could end up with a horse. :lmao:

That happened to a DISer...she was sorta planning a Disney wish trip and when the wish granters got there - she wanted a HORSE!

Long story short - they did have the means to take care of it and access to a stable and she ended up with a real live HORSE! What a trip!

Then they'll really need a nutritionist, cuz horses can't eat pizza and beer.

When AJ and Kennedy found out Bella was getting a wish, they spent the next month trying to convince her to wish for this and that. Some of the best suggestions were actually a trip to China, an elephant (why do we need an elephant?) and a horse. AJ, being the creative mind that she is, suggested Bella wish for 3 more Wishes :rotfl2:

The Portland Zoo sells that stuff for oodles a pound. You could make a fortune, keep the neighbors at bay AND give a once-a-year circus!! :lmao::lmao:

We ended up with a perfect day yesterday. It was close to 50 with just a slight breeze. You can't ask for anything better the first day of December in NY.

The movie was really good. We had a great time!

Sorry to hear about your computer. Don't you love technology?? ;)

We are excited for her. Now just to get her to pick the 'right' thing. :3dglasses

She can't have a horse because she isn't supposed to ride.. doctor's orders! I really cannot wait to hear all about your trip. I know your family is going to have a fabulous time!

Oh my goodness.. That is too funny!!!!! I will not even bring that up to Juliana. :rolleyes1

LOLOL That is true from what I have heard. :rotfl:
Have fun in NYC! :)
Thanks! We did have a great time! I'll have some pics later.

AJ is smart. The only thing better than that would be unlimited wishes! LOL You would definitely be the talk of the town if you had an elephant roaming around your house. :rotfl2:

It would be the gift that keeps on giving! :rolleyes1

I'm sure all the kids would be coming over to see the elephant destroying my backyard!popcorn::

Lauren also wanted to wish for a MONKEY...

I had forgotten about this until I read all of these responses...

Check this out...

Helper Monkeys for the Disabled

She wanted to wish for a monkey. But she has to wait until after she is out of regular school.

Tim, hope you guys all had a great time in NYC yesterday. Anxious to hear about it and see pics.

We got results for Mark--posted in my "What Would You Do" thread.

I can't wait to visit NYC. What time of year is the best time for a first visit?

Was the movie worth going to see in the theatre?
