Please help for our virgin trip to WDW, lol! Here are our general choices as to when we can go (I want to go during value season). If it helps, I'm talking about fall 06 or winter 07:

Early November (during first few weeks)

Early December (I'd love to see the decorations, and it'd be fun to go for DS's b-day, but worry about crowds)

Mid January

Early Feb. (first week or so)

I know everyone has opinions, but in general? When is it best, or what should I look out for during these times? My kids want to swim in the pools, but I understand that they're heated, right? We don't mind the cold (it'll be warmer than Oregon no matter what, lol).

We CANNOT go in Sept. or May, and don't want to go during summer or spring break (the kids are young, so they can miss school).

TIA!!

I noticed October wasn't listed in your months, but until recently, we have gone in October and have loved it that time. The weather has cooled off some, so you're not wilting during the day. It's still warm enough for swimming and water parks and cools off a little at night. Temps may be 80s during the day and 70s at night.

The crowds aren't bad at all, except for Columbus Day weekend, they increase during that time. We've gone to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party a few times and loved it. Epcot has the Food & Wine during the month, I'm not sure what else there is.

There usually not really much wait times that time of year, except for maybe the new/big attractions.

We don't go in October anymore because my daughter is too old to take out of school for a week, but if give the chance, I'd definitely go back that time of year.

From what I hear January and February can be cool, crowds aren't too big. We're going in November this year, Thanksgiving time :earseek: , but we'll make the best of it. We go every year so we don't have to see everything all over again.

Enjoy your planning!

I like all those choices. They're all good. Now you just need to decide what time of year you can get away.

Personally, I love early December best, because it is just beautiful in the parks and the crowds are low. But I've also been at all the other times you listed and I could recommend any of them. What a dilemma :goodvibes

I agree - they are all good choices...but my vote is for early December. Just check the Pop Warner schedule and avoid that week if you are staying in a value resort - only because I think it will be more enjoyable. If you can't avoid that week I still would choose early December.

Any of those times would be good as far as price and lack of crowds go. Personally, I'd think early December of those choices would be best though. I have to agree that October (minus right by Halloween) is also another great time to go.

Early December!!! Low Crowds, Nice decor, and Extra Family Magic..with the Holidays nearby!!
Have fun!! :flower:
