Although I have chosen the DDP my trip is short and I was getting concerned about the amount of time it will take for us to have our TS's but then thought, we are not going to be taking a break throughout the day to rest, just going strong for 4 days straight. I look at the sit down dinner as our time to relax. Do any of you feel this way or do most of you think that it is too time consuming to have to have a TS daily? I heard plan on a good hour to hour and a half to eat at a TS - do you feel this eats up your time you'd rather be doing something else?

One more thing... I have made my ADR's for late lunch, late dinners, early dinners, CM breakfast, etc.. so we are not eating at the same time every day to try to get the breaks I feel we will need.

Would your opinion change if you had a longer trip vs a smaller trip?

I definitely look at the TS as a break time, and many times an attraction as well. You need to take breaks either way, a nice way to do that is with a nice, relaxing meal.

I agree. Even on a shorter trip you need some break time, and meals are a good time for that.

Yes, I definitely think of TS as breaks especially with my kids. Even though they aren't toddler aged, they still need to rest they can't go, go... for that long. Also, I don't think 1.5 hours cuts too much in our touring time. But we are going at Xmas time when the parks are open later and longer, etc...

When we went in 2004 it was before the DDP and we had Magical Wishes. We used our wishes well and almost 2 TS meals every day. We realized how much time we were spending in restaurants instead of the parks. When we went this summer on the DDP we only used one TS per day and felt much better about how were spending our time.
Look at it this way. You have to eat and you have to have a break. By doing both at the same time, you're actually SAVING time.

our family only does TS these past few years. I enjoy the break, the food is not much more $$$ than CS and you get SERVED!!!

ISn't that the reason for vacation.. to relax a little and have someone serve you food...

I dread doing CS anymore....

I wouldn't say that TS "is not much more" money than CS. I did the math several months ago, and our averages were as follows:

CS: between $10.85 and $13.84 per person
TS: between $32.05 and $47.68 per person

So at least a three-to-one difference!
