Time Share Next To Nothing??

Dear Domestic Goddess

I never thought about the photo pass. :thumbsup2 I copied you post to our band director for info purposes. He said he knew about the DVD but had not heard about the photo pass. Thanks for the info. I guess we will find out more as the time gets closer. I also have another DD that will go in 2012.

This question is for anyone! In the 1 bedroom or studio can you describe it to me. Is it 2 double beds and a fold out sofa?? :rolleyes1

Depends.
In all Disney DVC units the 1 bedroom has a Kingsize bed in the bedroom and a fold out double bed sofa in the living room.

At all units but OKW the studios have a queen bed and a fold out sofa.

At OKW the studios have two queen size beds.

Spicey Cat, I took your advise and made a ressie just in case nothing comes through. ;) I sure pray something does work out for us. :worship:

Okay, here is what we ended up doing. Interval called us and offered us 3 studio units for the week we needed at the Marriotts Grand Vista. :goodvibes I called two other families that are friends of ours and offered the other units to them. They both accepted! :grouphug: We have decided not to tell our children about the other families and the other families agreed not to tell their kids so we can surprise all of them. :dance3: I believe my girls will be so excited.

Has anyone had experience at the Grand Vista? :confused3 Can you tell me what to expect? What units to ask for? I am already read the "canned" description of the property and I have also read some of the travel advisor which can or can not always be trusted. Disboard's posters have always given me tons of great information. :worship:

We are members of Interval International and we were able to swap our Cape Cod week for a week at Saratoga Springs for this coming November. If you go on the Interval Website you can search for open DVC properties. The availability if very slim and it is generally a studio (although there is a 2 bedroom for the week of November 16th right now that I wish we could book).

We have a search going on for next year and hope something will open up. It is possible but the availability is very limited.

Good luck,
Linda
Is your wedding in November at Disney? Just curious.

Yes - our wedding is November 10th at Disney - are you going to be down there then.

you need to visit the orlando hotels/attraction board - for where to stay at GV - it has been too long for me to give advise.

definitely enjoyed my stays here - but you need a car - if you are flying be sure and rent one. they have a shuttle but the price was :scared1: $12.50 per person per day. So even with only 2 people you are better off renting a car.

you will get a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa plus a full size balcony. some of the balconies are screened in - some are not.

no washer/dryer - but the free ones are at the pool. no ice machine!!!!

so bring extra ice trays (or get those plastic ones that you can freeze easily then tear open)

the last time with II we got some worn out and abused rooms - the bad thing was the hall was messy and Marriott never once cleaned the thing and don't even think about the elevator....

but someone who visited lately say they have done an excellent job of cleaning up.

Did they give you 3 studio units in exchange for your one unit? If so, WOW!

Yes, that is what they gave us was 3 studio units for our 2 bedroom unit. :wizard:
II has done this from time to time but there's no way to bargain for it.

FYI, non-Value class 1BRs at AKV sleep 5, as I believe BLT will as well. There is a chair that folds out to a small bed.

For 6 you must get a 2BR, which sleep up to 8 (9 at AKV).
