Time saving with Express Pass

I've been using line apps to take a look at the wait times on some of the rides over the last week. Despicable Me has had two hour lines. Simpsons has had one hour lines. It looks awful. We are planning to go over Presidents Day weekend and I would expect the crowds to be pretty big. Curiously, if we were to have Express Pass, how long would we expect to wait for rides like Despicable Me when the regular lines reach two hours?

Well...crowds won't be anywhere near the size of the crowds this past week but it will be busy. If the standby line reaches two hours, I would guess Express waits would be no more than 30 minutes...45 minutes on the outside...unless there's a problem with the attraction.

2nd-Despicable me for some reason always generates longer waits, even with exprss pass. But most of the other attractions shouldnt be as bad

Dec 22 & 23 were very busy and likely similar to what you will be experiencing crowdwise over PD weekend/week. DM was a 30 min wait with EP and 120 min without. All other rides were max 15 min with EP regardless of standby wait time. Before 11am all rides (except DM) were pretty much walk-ons with EP. Hope that helps!

Where are you getting your wait app? I need a good one for Universal.

I do agree that Despicable Me is a difficult one. I would get that one done first thing in the morning one day.

Agreed...I would have said Transformers should be done first thing but wait times have decreased enough that DM should be done first.

We've only been once and it was the Tuesday and Wednesday of Pres. Week. We bought the pass but we really didn't need it, and couldn't use it for Forbidden Journey (which had the longest lines 3 years ago). Not sure why the lines were so much shorter than what we expected -- maybe because it was pretty cold that year??

But I'm considering buying it again, just because we're only doing 1 day this year. :surfweb:
