hello all! Can't wait for my trip in September but I'm looking for advice because my silly husband (who is not a Disney planner) is making me second guess myself. We are bringing my mother in law as well and she hasn't been to Disney since the 90s. Anyway I have reservations at chef mickeys at 515 and our plane lands at 230. Will this be enough time to get to the resort and to chef mickeys? I know it screams welcome to Disney lol so I wanted to make our first night there for her special. Any tips would be helpful thanks!

Probably. It usually takes me 60 - 90 minutes from when I arrive at MCO to when I get in my room, BUT that's assuming you have no flight delays or anything else that could cause you to be late.

It might be it might not.

I assume domestic flight, if it were international you would have no chance

What resort are you going to check in to. If it is the Contemporary it will be easier if you need Disney transportation to get to the Contemporary a lot harder. Easier if you can walk to a park and pick it up there.

I will say I wouldn't attempt this i think it is way too tight. Especially if using disney transportation to get to Chef mickeys but your post has way too little information to really say

I think that even if your flight arrives on time (a big IF), it will be tight. You probably won't arrive at your resort till around 4:00. You won't have time to go to your room and freshen up. Just enough time to drop your carryons with Bell Services and head to the the CR by whatever means of Disney transportation is available. If you aren't on the monorail you'll have to bus to MK and then walk to CR . Of course you could always grab a taxi or Uber to get you to there.

This is too tight for me. I do not like to feel rushed right out of the gate so this would have me very stressed.

As others have said, it is very tight. Travel Day is full of unexpected, uncontrollable delays. If you do not make it you will be charged the $10/person no show fee.
Where are you staying?

"If" you land at 2:30 you still need to get to the Magical Express part of the airport check in and get in line for your resort bus. The resort buses are shared with other resorts so your resort may not drop off first. Also the buses don't leave until they are pretty full so you may have a delay there. As others have said could take 60-90 min to get to your resort. The line may be long to check in even if you do on line check in. Your room may not be ready so you have to make arrangements for your carry ons. Depending on where you stay it could take a long time to get to the Contemporary (best way would be a taxi). I think you will be cutting it close.

If you are taking a car or cab from the airport, I think you will be fine, but if you are using Magical Express, the time may be tight! Conversely, you could grab a cab once you get to your resort, but I would hope your concierge could call Chef Mickey's and explain that you are a bit delayed. IF you can make a later ADR, I would! Call the dining line and ask,...those CMs really try to help.

Without knowing where you are staying, and especially not knowing whether or not you're renting a car or using bus transportation makes it very difficult to answer this question.

You also might want to look at flightaware and see if the flight you are taking is typically delayed or on time. While anything can happen any day, it will help you prepare if you know that the flight you're on is routinely delayed by 40 minutes or something like that.

5:15 is kind of an early dinner anyway. Any chance you could try to change it out for 6-6:30? use the touring plans ADR finder, it works great!

if everything worked out perfectly it may be enough time but for me it is too much of a chance. You are counting on everything to be running on time and that just is not always the case.

Way too tight for me. Can you move it back any? For me personally I would want something at least after 6 that night.

But you could spend 30-50 minutes in line at the concierge.

You'll be rushing & that's not the best way to start a vacation but if you're game then go for it. Can you book a towncar from airport to your hotel instead of taking the ME? I know it's expensive but it'll save you a ton of time. Also, if you aren't staying at CR take a cab to there from your hotel to save some stress. Enjoy your trip!
