Time in the parks?

I'd go for three day hoppers. It gives you more flexibility.

As others have said 3 days is not enough to experience it all. That being said I say 3 day Park Hoppers (more if you can swing it!). Have a plan of everyones must do's and make a loose plan from that!

I also vote for a 3 day park hopper! That way you can start in one park on one day, then the other park the next day, and then on your last day either start with the park that you like best or the one that you feel you need to finish up some rides that you might have missed. We always park hop. Most times we start in DCA and end the day at DL to watch the fireworks. Sometimes we're in both parks twice! LOL! Make sure you take advantage of FP. Not sure when you're going, but with the 60Th celebration starting in May, the park hopper would probably help out crowd wise. Have a great time!

Three days and hoppers. This is not scientific. However I feel the average hop from the middle of one park to the middle of the other is about the same as AK front gate to Safari ride... Actually the DL hop is likely a lot shorter. Parks are right next to each other... With nighttime entertainment in both parks it really helps to hop. Also must sees are the Aladdin show, World of Color and Fantasmic. Likely a lunch in Blue Bayou and Character Breakfast Meal at Minnie's. Napa Rose for a serious splurge...

why not do 5 day hopper. try and get in earlier arrive check in and go play, then the day you leave leave later go play.
Now I love road trips with my parents and we live here in AZ and took my son to the Grand canyon yes its nice, but how long are you planing there. Most the places you mentioned can be seen in 3 or so hours. and Vegas. I've told my hubby "no I don't want waist time or money there, I'd rather spend time in DL. LOL
I would honestly look at making this a 5 day trip with how far you are driving from.
