We have a FP for Splash Mountain at 11:55, and a reservation for Chef Mickey's at 12:55. Will we be able to make it to Chef Mickey's on time? Would walking be faster than the monorail?
Thanks!

It will be tight. Make sure and be a SM right at 11:55. As soon as you get off the ride, you need to head towards the front of the park and onto the RESORT monorail quickly. Since the Contemporary is the next stop, this will be faster than walking, unless the monorails are down of course... Get off the monorail and go one floor down and you're there.

You should get there by 1:00p. Also, You have a 15-min grace period the ADR. So you should be fine.

Sure! You are allowed to enter a ride 5 minutes early so I would do that. You should be fine.

I would just walk to the contemporary. The walkway is right there by MK exit.

I would worry about the possibility of being wet while eating. Ponchos may be a good idea.

As others have said, I think you might be cutting it pretty tight on time, and could potentially be fairly wet during your meal.

I believe you can get in 5 mins early in FP too....at least you used to be able too. It all depends on how fast you walk too. I believe Splash is ~9min ride. Then you have to walknto front of park and then either to monorail or Contemporary. I did that walk once at the end of a 12 hr day and still made it in under 10 mins.....I ave short legs and not a fast walker but I didn't have kids with me either. I totally think it is doable, but if you are able to move Splash up at all...even 15 mins, it might be less rushed.

Walking to the Contemporary from MK is MUCH faster than the monorail. With the monorail, you have to walk up to the station, wait for a train, board, etc. The only time it *MIGHT* be quicker is if there is a monorail waiting right in that station when you arrive, he doors close as soon as you board, and the train starts moving without any delays.

And if you go through Splash at EXACTLY 11:55, you should make it to Chef Mickeys in time if you walk briskly. It's a 5-7 minute walk.

While walking to the CR from MK is fine, the monorail ride will actually let guests out just a few steps from Chef Mickey's.
Exit the train, ride down a half-floor on an escalator and just around the corner is Chef Mickey's.

When walking, guests must enter the lobby of the resort, then take an elevator up to the 4th floor and over to Chef Mickey's.

Again, walking is certainly a valid choice (and I posted a map above showing the route,) but taking the resort monorail offers it's own advantages, too.

Neither, IMO, is "MUCH faster" than the other.

Taking the monorail is more fun anyway. Just get to Splash right at 11:50 (5 minutes early). You should be done by 12:10 or so, giving you plenty of time to get to Chef Mickey's.

Enjoy!

Don't count on being let on 5 minutes early. It really depends on the CM. I have had CMS hold me at the line right till the very minute my FP starts and gave no early grace period.

I did a Contempo/Poly split stay last summer, and the resort monorail is a nightmare. It broke down all of the time.
I would never again use it during a time crunch.
That being said: realistically it will probably take you about 15 minutes from the time you leave the Magic Kingdom until you are at Chef Mickey's if you walk there and walk at a decently brisk pace. I include walking through the lobby and taking the escalators up to the restaurant on that estimate. Might take your family less, could take you more. All depends on how you guys walk.

I think you should be fine, as long as you don't stop to see/do anything from the time you get off of Splash Mountain until you reach the Contempo.
